#1..,Think I had my flu jab sometime ago Jim. However have been sneezing every day since. Am more concerned about blood pressure as the GP has given up on me and sending me to a specialist. Have waited for about 4 weeks now but seeing next week. I take by own readings and is often way over 200 / X. Suspect drugs have gone by their use by date. Still ... can't go on for ever... cheers JS

that's not good mate, you should be on Blood Pressure Tabs all the time ,I too have High Blood Pressure and have managed to keep it under control for many Years now, loosing weight and Walking helps a lot. The Tablets I take daily as well, and I too have my own BP machine ,and I am always around the 136 / 78 or thereabouts!
Stress you must avoid at all costs that is a big no no!
Please do get you Doctor to put you some good BP Tabs
    Keep Well
    Cheers

Had the Flu jab here back in April and no worries.

But many who did have the jab still got the Flu, many ending up in hospital with Pnemonia, some died, 8 in one aged care establishment in a week, amongst other things.

One doc here said the strain this year, now on it's way to UK is one that mutates very easily and the jab in some cases will not give full protection.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Hi John
get your BP under control NOW
IT CAN CREATE A STROKE, AND LIFE IS VERY MISERABLE AFTER THAT.

I exercise every day, lift weights, use my exercise Bike in the spare bedroom and do a lot of walking.
I take one Lisinopril Tablet and One Amlodipine tablet each morning for the BP.
I do not smoke, and do not drink alcohol except for a small glass of wine with dinner on a Saturday and Sunday. I feel Good and am planning a world cruise in two years.
I had Blood Pressure which was up to the 200 mark, Doctor told me I wasn't going to live too long like that
and now for the last Four years it has remained constant at around 126 over 65.. 126/65.
I have lost a stone, 14 pounds since January. Have good diet, No red meat, chicken or fish, plenty of fresh vegetables and plenty of fruit, bananas, grapes, strawberries, peaches, and a Vitamin B12 and a cod liver oil capsule every day. So feeling GOOD.
went to the Hospital`s Cardiac Consultant Yesterday and he gave me the results of my ECG and CT Scan on the heart and said I was Very Fit for my age of 82.
I have the BP monitor here and check it every few days.
Life is TOO Good to waste. and I intend to be at my new granddaughters 21st Birthday party when I am 102.
    Cheers
    Brian

Saw a notice from the NHS yesterday which said that the flu jab this year will not cover the Australian Flu as the Australian Flu came to notice after the production of this year's flu jabs. So we will just have to hope it does not get here but I am sure it will with all the travelling between here and Aus. Keep to a minimum travelling on Public Transport and crowded areas if poss.

Your right about public transport Chris.people sneeze and don't cover up if they do cover up its with their hands they then go on to use the hand rails spreading their germs everywhere.I could not go out without a handkerchief even in the summer months.

john ,BP is a constant problem as we get older even more so....but it can be controlled ....my own BP 17 years ago when i retired was 200 plus over 110.....i only found this out after moving home and having to register with new doc in this village ......the doc said you could need immediate surgery which was not what i wished to hear ...i had not been to a doctors for 20n years or so ......they pumped me with 6 or so tablets it slowed me down to such an extent i could hardly walk 50 yards......each time they took my BP it was still massive.....they then said i might have white coat syndrome which basically means you do not cope well with others effing about with you .....they gave me a BP monitor to use at home ...when i put it on it was sky high ....which meant each time i got the bloody thing on my arm my. BP shot up......i eventually was told by my nurse take it many times you will get more used and that will help ..i found each time i did that the BPcame down.....i am now on two tabs a day ....CANDISARTIN and ATORVASTATIN my BP IS 125 OVER 65 ......today john they are very god with BP and i feel sure they will get yours down...cut the alcohol john that is a must ....not altogether but......drink less .....and any you dont drink send to my home address iwill look after it until your BP cimes down ......HONEST .......best wishes cappy
