my vanishing

My eldest daughter had the misfortune to be in what was a mentally abusive relationship I always said she could walk into the old Wembley Stadium with 100000 blokes in it and come out with a total idiot . She because of insecurity put on an awful lot of weight and was over 40 stone . I had done a lot of work when I was mobile to try and get this down by councillors and therapist of various sorts it was working with extremely slowly unfortunately when I lost my Mobility the weight of the go back up from a load of many years of 29 stone . She developed sleep apnea and in the wee small hours of Boxing Day morning her body just stopped breathing why there was not some kind of alarm system available I do not know .

But my heartfelt thanks to all those who have sent sympathies

That's terribly sad Rob,and I'm so very sorry.Hope your interraction with us,your seafaring contemporaries once again , is helping to alleviate your painful burden for a while.

Having almost 10 years ago seen my wife died from an incurable cancer when my daughter died suddenly of something that could have been prevented it makes you sick to the pit of your stomach . Without criticism of the Medical Profession that I have little knowledge of she was on three different antidepressants which I believe had turned her into an almost zombie state . I felt that some of them were given to her to make the doctors jobs easier I could be very wrong . I keep thinking that 6 months locked up and given a couple of biscuits today she would have lived for another 20 or 30 years . I did feel though that the therapists were starting to get to the root of the problem . She was a very loving person . She never quite ever achieved what her ex-husband ever wanted her to do and she picked even bigger idiots that he was all in the search for love she didn't want the Shared love that she regarded from the family she wanted individual totally devoted love.

Believe me the number of times of what could I have done and done it better as circulated my head like a radar aerial on speed

Rob, you have nothing to reproach yourself about, my first wife died young from cancer in both lungs and the liver and she didn't smoke or drink and fit as a fiddle, believe me I searched the world for a cure, but was told by a Harley Street specialist, there are just some situations you cannot reverse just keep loving her and making her comfortable, you also have your children to look after. I now have a mentally disabled step-daughter from my second marriage and she has to be sedated from time to time to protect herself from herself and to protect others believe me every visit is an adventure because she can wake up from her zombie state at a moments notice and in public these can have some embarrassing and terrifying moments for us and no doubt on others as well, She is now in her fifties, knows all the swear words, but hasn't a clue what they mean (mentality of a 3yr old) but we later look back on these moments with hilarity, but still dread the next visit. Everytime we visit her my wife tortures herself that perhaps she could have done more, but as the specialists tell her, there is absolutely nothing more you could have done or are doing.

Rob some things are just beyond your control no matter how much you think you could have done better, we cope because we have a sense of humour even though we hurt inside, so nothing to reproach yourself for

There are many ways of taking on a problem and when I looked of people like yourself John who took a problem and took many years in dealing with it but succeeded in doing it it is inspirational to others I never knew how difficult it was the deal with the NHS but since I started this I have found several friends with very interesting stories . There seems to be two poor relations in the NHS is people over 60 and for people with disabilities neither to my mind is properly funded . I keep going to Bevans original statement about the Health Service be free at the point of delivery regardless of your ability to pay . That now has a rider to it and that Rider is as long as we have the funds

Rob, my deepest condolences on the loss of your daughter.
Rob the system for those who over years paid in fortune stinks, had you com in from overseas no doubt there would be no problem.
Hang in there mate never ever give up, the cares of tomorrow can wait until this day is done.

Just give it one last go, get your Doctor to refer you to the Dreadnought,. you just never know what the outcome will be, cannot be any worse.

I go this Thursday to get results of my last biopsy done last month scary times this week no more opps for me the body wont take it so I have been told every day is a fight.. jp

May all your results be nothing but good ones john . That is one of the annoying things I find with the NHS I was fortunate in the job I had for 25 years after I left the sea I had a very good medical insurance so when my late wife was ill and was on all kinds of chemotherapy her medical bills amounting to over £112,000 all paid for by the insurer gave her no better medicine than the NHS but if she had an X-ray or scan biopsy of blood test you got the results normally within the hour if they can do that in the dam the private sector why can't the NHS do it to after all is the same Doctors
