Happy for you Marian. We've just emerged from a blackout that lasted 196 hours here - that's right, more than eight days! So I've missed a lot. Just my email backlog will take a while to sort through. All the best to you anyway, and I also thank you for your past help.

Well done Marian, not much else I can say as all has been said by your many friends on here, I echo all these sentiments, as I said before we need you on this site, you have a brilliant sense of humour.

marian must have chosen the best option, for those of us who have been told you have cancer its a terrible shock and I think we have all been shocked by something in our lives? now the medical part is being worked on the mind games start. its a long hard road to travel but there is light at the end of the tunnel , marian just pick up the phone and talk to someone we all think we can do it on our own some can but anyone here would give you all the support because we have been there get well soon you are a good.n jp/barb

Well Marian,we do have something in common a growth on my Kidney was picked up while having a scan.
they passed it on to the kidney department, three weeks later the kidney was removed.
I went into the hospital Tuesday morning was home Friday afternoon,I had no problems before the operation,during the operation
after the operation.
This was 2012,I saw the surgeon at 12 month intervals last year he discharged me completely.
The removed kidney was cancerous.

#29, Dear John, I wasn't given an option, my surgeon told me there would be no biopsy until after the operation itself due to tumour size and it's risk of spreading if disturbed. My only question for him was how quickly could it be removed. Firstly I had to recover from the sepsis, unfortunately a few weeks later I had an adverse reaction to the medications that had been administered for that, so was hospitalised again which delayed my op by almost a month. I had two concerns only throughout that time, one the delay itself and two, surviving the op. I truly appreciate your kind invitation to talk, but honestly John there is absolutely no need to discuss further simply because to my mind it's over, apart from checkups. I realise I have been incredibly fortunate in not having to endure long periods of invasive treatments which are in themselves debilitating and distressing for families [ongoing with two of mine at present]
I am touched by the kindness expressed to me in these threads and emails but not surprised, as a finer bunch of folk I've yet to meet.:D
