We have them here in Dawlish a few miles away, I'll get one from there, save the airfreight, on second thoughts they're a protected species, not going to jail, not even for Columbus's mate, if he wants one he should have taken one from the Ark when he was on it.
I thought they were Black Swans in Dawlish Warren Ivan.

Gulliver,I did my first trip to sea in 53 My old dad went to sea as a boy age twelve he was down below he also used the term Revy, were it originated from i wouldn't have a clue, and no its not an Aussie saying.I was on home boats its just what we called them !You can call me anything you want but don't call me to earlie.
Talking about caps. I was a guest with only a few men at a Ladys Social do a couple of years ago. Somehow the conversation got round to different apparels of different nationalitys. This lady of Dutch origin mentioned their apparel which included clogs and caps and I burst out laughing and she couldn't see the joke at all. One of the other ladies had to take her aside and explain the use of a dutch cap, after which she became all red and flustered and went back into her shell. Could of done with Cappy there to console her. Maybe could of shown her his duck, and hoped she was colour blind as the dying never came out too good. JS
Well I guess that's it then Charlie. You are the one who started all this, mentioning that dreaded word 'Revy. Be ashamed of yourself!
I shall pursue and winkle out the derivation of the word 'Revy' until I go to my grave....
You have given me a purpose to carry on regardless.
Ah Revy,Woe is me !

What was the British soldiers side cap called, was it a brevet ? Did it not get its name from something like that? Just a couple of pieces of material sewn together. I have heard the name describing such a hat but never made. Anyhow what is the torirililium vacuum cheers js
