    Default Moon moon

We all know them, Moonriver, Moonlight Bay, Moonlight and Roses.

So there I was on Saturday morning going up a ladder, as you do. Checking a Gum tree, as you do.

On the second rung of the ladder, no worries but I needed to be on the third to see correctly what I was about.

There has been some heavy rain of late making some of the soil a little soft, obviously one corner of the ladder had discovered the soft spot because as I moved up the ladder turned on it's side.
I was rudely and unexpectedly returned to the ground striking the outside of my left foot on the concrete border.

The pain was something else but being the stoic person am I got over it and carried on.

That evening out to dinner was a little sore but with no swelling, Sunday a little better and managed a walk of about 3 kilometers.

Monday morning the foot looking a little swollen I presented myself at my GP's prior to surgery commencing. Having examined my foot and getting a laugh from it sent me for an X Ray.

The X Ray operator informed I had comprised the 5th Metatarsal.

Back to My GP who having looked at he 'pictures' sent on to the local physiotherapist, all this in a little over 45 minutes, the service here is good

I am now, and will be for the next weeks wearing a MOONBOOT. Michael Jackson here I come.

Two things have been learned from this experience.

If going up a ladder make sure the ground is firm, or get some one else to go up there.

Funny thing is whenever I mention the second bit to her indoors she is gone like a rocket.

    Odd creatures these females.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

As I always say it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop.

Getting too old for Ladders John
Get Terri to do the climbing in future! LOL
Sorry to hear of the fall mate, but you must look so cooool in them Moonboots!

Not to out do that but recall a few Years back when on a short Ladder on the front porch of the House we lived in at Guildford, trying to fix an outside light, pulling on the strap that held the Lamp I pulled too hard and BANG! off I went over the small rail onto the concrete, head first! That was really painful! Smashed my glasses and my head too! Looked a sad sight for about 2 Weeks!

Anyway hope you soon recover and back on the terra firma as usual! No Boots ! LOL
    Cheers

    Hi John.
I knew you'd get the boot one day. If you go out and bow to the moon nine times it will get you a boot for the other foot, especially if your up a ladder when you do it.
    Get well son mate.
    Cheers Des
