Ivan. Absolutely my misses never smoked in her life, If she never saw another alchoholic drink it would not bother her and never did, She was admitted with cancer 10years ago underwent chemo for 6 months she unlike your missis came through it, Which my heart goes out to you sincerly. I am a firm believer it is in your genetic make up from day one. She has cancer victims on both sides of her family her farther included. And as you say if your calling card is up its up sad to here that. Regards Mate Terry.

Genetic makeup does have avery pronounced effect on the body. Many thing are hereditary and there is little we can do about it. Like Neil we ran a couple of pubs and you do tend to drink more than normal, having a social beer with the customers is part of the deal. I had a small silver jug which I think was filled constantly each night. You sup away without realising just hwo much you have consumed. As with any drug the body can adjust and get used to it without any nasty side effects. I am of the theory that if you eat correctly with a health diet it can offset some of the effects of alcohol.
Interesting thing many coming here from UK get a bit of a shock drinking our beer for the first time, it is in some cases almost twice as strong.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
