Onward, and upward Gordon, Best wishes, Marian
Every good wish to you Gordon, from us on this side of globe.
Richard
Went for my annual blood screening test last wee and got results today from my GP.
All normal, kidneys, liver, thyroid, sugar, cholesterol, B12 and no sign of PSA which is good as I no longer have a prostate.
He commented on my general health and asked about my diet, in particualr breakfast.
As most of you will know breakfast is a meal without wine.
For many years now I have been having a bowl of plain label Muesli mixed with 3 spoons of raw bran, a chopped Kiwi fruit skin and all in Orange juice, do not drink milk and have not since 1960.
I also eat copious quntities of veg much home grown and little red meat mainly fish or chicken.
He tells me that it is an excellent diet and much of the reason I am well without the need of medication. I also drink four litres of water a day, it is a good way to control weight.
They say you are waht you eat, if that is true my brother should fit under the door, well Pizza is flat you know!
Well guys, not been on for a while so just a wee update. Started chemo on 1st October last year. Scheduled for 10 doses at 3 week intervals. Managed 9 and then managed to get a virus that happened to coincide with my white blood cell count being 0.1 which meant I had nothing to fight the infection with. A week in hospital seemed to fix me up but it was decided I would not get my 10th dose which was fine by me. Oncologist was just happy that I had managed 6. Being a stubborn Turnbull I was determined to get the full 10 but that week in hospital was a wake up call if ever if I needed one. Stamina is just above zero but docs reckon it will be a few months before my strength is returned so just gotta take it easy. Hair has started growing back (on the head anyway!!) just as the fingernails have decided to fall off. :-) Everybody tells me I am looking good so onwards and upwards once again!!!
Best wishes Gordon on your road to recovery. I am sure there will be ups and downs but eventually the ups will take over.
Regards
John C.
All the very best to you Gordon, hope it all works out for the good.
The only way now is up.
I go to the hospital in Manchester on 28 April for a check up after my cancer was cut out in January, They cut out a large tumor so hopefully should be OK . I lost some hair and finger nails caused a few problems I didnt realise how much I depended on finger nails when they werent there.
All the best
Brian
