Looking at all this medical history , they all seem to involve the digital examination of the rectum , is your doctor a man or a woman , ( Just out of interest )

Thank you guys, and girls, for all your kind words. Yes it has been a bad year, but as Kong tells it we are still here and thta is the most important part. Next year will be a whole lot better, you got to have faith and believe in that.

So far all digitalis rectum where by males thought I have had two females examine and feel my hernia, and surrounding areas prior to my op, hands that do dishes can still be soft, but I am developing a fettish for the blue rubber gloves.

I have just been allocated a new doctor after my previous one retired. she, is an attractive 30 something and very straight to the point. one point i was not happy with my other doc was he did'nt agree with psa tests. so i asked her what she thought of them, iget it paid for from my benefit package. no problem, sent me for a regular blood work up, plus urine tests, prior to my yearly medical. on the day of the medical, she gave me a gown to put on, when ready was told to lay on the table facing the wall, heard the snap of rubber and nearly kissed the wall when she jammed the finger in. no tender words of "relax, this wont take long". everything is fine, she say's. must admit, learnt more from her in two visits than i have in the last five years with the other one. Another time about 4 years ago while being prepped for second hip replacement, ( we all have thought about a threesome with some beauties} I had a nurse and her student try and insert a catheter into the old lad, this went on for, i'm sure, twenty minutes. not quite the way i dreamed of it going. certainly did'nt do anything for the old lad. the nurse explained it could be due to an enlarged prostate. now my mind is at rest. everything seems to be ok
    at present.

    regards, stan

Just caught up with this John.

Last Friday I went in for my pre op examination and on Wednesday I have the hernia in my groin repaired. About fifteen years ago I had a repair in the same place reinforced with some sort of netting but it gave way early this year and is as big as cricket ball now. Margaret gets embarrassed as I poke it back in when we're out shopping, no, no! my guts. Funny thing, the surgeon is Dr. Shakeshaft. I hope his hand is steady.

We've had some trauma over the last couple of years with our prostate, hernia and bleeding bums but you sound OK I'm glad to hear. My oncologist reckons my cancer at a PSA (that's not the Port of Singapore Authority) of 0.04 will not be what knocks me off the perch. Last year's bleeding radiation ulcer has healed over so from what you say, after Wednesday's operation I get six weeks glorious rest. Bloody marvelous!!

    Take care mate,

    Richard
