    Hi Russ
Like you I get night cramps, I always keep "Quinneen Sulphate" in my bedside cabinet, seems to work for me.
Not sure about my spelling of the drug though

Hate to think what Ivan does to alleviate his cramps , If it was worth deleting , it must be good

I started with cramps last year,
It feels like a Rottewieler has my calf muscles gripped in its teeth. I get it every night now, I have to leap around the bedroom at 4 in the morning, she is not amused.

    Default Cramp remedies

1x tablespoon of Cyder Vinegar + same of honey mixed in warm water. Good cure for Arthritis as well (3x daily for arthritis )
Bananas to replace potassium loss ~ which causes cramps.
This sounds bizarre but................ wine corks in a net bag down the bed. Don't know why or how it works but it does!
Pinch the soft tissue above your top lip for about 10 seconds when you get into bed. Something to do with acupuncture -type pressure.

I can endorse that, and got it from a nurse. In the bedroom there is a small fireplace with a quarry tiled hearth which I used to stand on and get some fairly instant relief if it wasn't a severe attack. Then I put a new rug down which covered the tiles, forgetting what I used them for, had to go outside and stand on concrete.

For anything more severe, get the affected leg as high and as straight as you can, bed, chair, back of a chair, whatever you can manage without harming yourself, then lean forward as far as is comfortable, try and emulate what a hurdler does before a race.
