    Default Visits to your gp

    Have a look at this:

    https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/dont-cap-GP-visits

The Conservative party is looking into limiting the number of times we are allowed to visit our GPs.

Since the NHS was created, all British citizens have had the security of being able to rely on access to our health system - whenever we need it. Limiting the number of times we can see our GP would undermine the NHS at its very foundations.

So let's send health minister Jeremy Hunt a strong message: drop this terrible idea.

How can you limit your visits?? Is he going to say for example. only 6 visits a year,
Now when I was younger I never ever visited my GP, for maybe 30 years, So do I get a credit note for the 30 years ? at 6 visits a year would Jeremy give me a credit note worth an extra 180 visits to be used as and when required.
How the hell is that going to work
So I have had my quota, then I get real sick , will they refuse me admission to the GPs Surgery??

    Default Silly isnt it!

Will more than likely find himself on the wrong side if that goes ahead!
That could cause all kinds of complications, and also lead to deaths!
    How silly!

it just shows what lunatics we have in power, including the member of the house of lords who suggested pensioners should do community service to earn there pensions, after paying all there lives with contributions, this lot certainly have got it in for the elderly , poor and infirm, extermination at 65 will be next, how they ever got in power i will never know, gay marriage is there main interest, , i wonder how many of the goverment are gay, ?

It does sound very odd to say the least, how can anyone tell when they will become ill. Now if you get really sick, maybe in need of an operation and follow up visits, at the end of your alloted six visits you are still not right. Do you have to wait until the next year to follow up?
Opposite here in Oz, GP's get a fee from the patient, or in the case of seniors or any form of pension holder the gov pays them direct. We have patienst here who turn up every week, GP;s love them as it brings in more money.
UK system has somewhere sadly gone off the rails, but with the country on the edge of backruptcy thye have to save money somewhere.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

Going to enjoy the system that we have at the moment as reading what is happening in the UK looks like we will get it here if the XXXXXXXXXXX get elected in Sept.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Spike Milligans epitaph "I told you I was ill" maybe we will see that more often if we are refused treatment.

    Default Just my opinion Les

    Just my opinion Les
Cannot see too much change on the Medical care here no matter who wins the Election!
I think that we are very lucky here in Aussieland to have such a good System, and i for one have never had any trouble or long waiting times !
As said too by John,we pensioners are well taken care of regarding fees, dont pay a cent !
EG Had my Heart Attack quite some time ago, taken to the best Hospital free, had all necessary tests etc, then Operatin, alll in all spent 10 days Nepean Hospital, the another 8 in Westmead!
Discharged fully fit stil not one cent out of Pocket!
Now what more can we ask for !
But and i say BUT! there is i suppose always that slim chance that things can change!
My Vote is there will be no change!!
    Lets wait and see !
    Cheers
