    Default Prostate Cancer.

John,HDin oz #136 thanks for that info.As it happened last night I slept right through. The first time I was getting up a lot during the night I read up on it and the reason given was,as you get older your bladder muscles become weaker giving you the feeling that you have a full bladder when in fact you don't.My mate didn't get any warning (unless he ignored it) I was with him about 8 weeks ago on our usual Thursday afternoon couple of pints, going home time I bade him tarrar I'l see you Sunday.Did'nt see him Sunday or for another month he was rushed into hostpital with the prostate complaint Saturday after I was with him on the Thursday, that was quick!!It turns out it is cancerous,I reckon he has lost a stone in weight in the past 8 weeks,it has knocked him for6.
    Regards.

There was a show on Chan 4 TV, Embarrassing Bodies, last week, to strengthen your bladder muscles squeese the bottom muscles under your goolies several times, use it as an exercise routine, 3 sets of ten a few times a day. It tightens up the muscles that control your bladder and also good for the end result of getting your leg over.
Try it, you may like it.

Reminds me of a conversation with a golfing friend of mine, who, upon enquiring why i was reluctant to take up the Royal and Ancient game, i explained that to me, learning to play golf was a bit like engaging in gay sex- I don't want to try it in case i get to enjoy it.

Here in Oz you automaticaly get one in the post on your 65th birthday. After that you ask your GP every two years for a kit. Hand the samples into the local blood testing station and result comes back to your GP.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Interesting Brian, we get thta program here in Oz and som eof the bodies..................
As to the pelvic floor exercises, after the catheter is removed a period of incontinence sets in. It can last for up to four months with some men. The exercises you mention are what you use to regain continence. I got mine back after 8 weeks, but the cut to nerves makes getting the leg over a thing to think of for up to a year as they grow back.

With you all the way on that one Vern. I really thought that I had taken enough shite of them over the years while working to not start sending it back. Is there no stopping the parasites. See that they have just given themselves another $5000 a year pay rise. Might pay for a meal where it could have fed a family for a year.
