Heat
Here in Oz it is summer time and sometimes it can get a bit warm.
Parts of the nation get a real roasting.
This year has been different with massive rain in parts of Queensland and NSW.
WA and South Oz along with Victoria have had some very hot times.
We are now into our fourth period of temps in the 30plus up to 40 in Victoria.
Made worse by the fact we are in the middle of a drought, no rain, apart from then odd downpour, since about end of October.
This is good for some but not others, farmers are doing it tough which means we all do it tough with higher prices.
But Monday will be bad, the twice yearly indexation of fuel and grog takes place. Based on the rate of inflation.
It would not be so bad but this ho
t weather sees me doing a case of beer a week just to stay hydrated.
Be happy when the colder weather sets in then back to the red wine to keep warm.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Heat
Tut tut John, Alcohol is a diuretic so it actually can cause dehydration
But drinking water makes me pee more as does beer but seeing as I prefer the taste of beer especially guinness. Also Alcohol is bad for you, but who wants to live to be a 100.
In warm weather John, better to feel comfortable and one of lifes pleasures is sitting enjoying a nice cold Beer.
Guinness so they say is good for you, but to be honest it is not really a hot weather drink, to heavy. As to Red wine well proven fact the odd glass or two is benificial, certainly seems to work for the Spanish some of the happiest people in Europe.
A drink I really do enjoy when I do my 2 consecutive Alcohol free days is Soda and lime very refreshing.
Guninness have introduced Guiness zero alcohol free I always have a few cans in the fridge not to cold as the colder it gets it loses the flavour.

Enjoy your Sun mate.

Meanwhile here in the Mountains now a solid Week of cold , Dense Fog , Rain and Wind. Cool too at this time of the Year, getting a bit miffed with all this damp and Foggy Weather now.
Cant go out much at all , as Driving in this Fog is dangerous and very bad on the Eyes.
Dont need any Grog , just nice Hot Cups of Soup!
Dont know what happening with the Weather here this Year!
Have not had Summer yet! Only a few days over two weeks ago, with some nice days 4 in all.
Bleedin Heck!!!

Re: Heat
Hi John.
Our first hot day today I would estimate around 38 with a hot breeze, We still have a dooner on the bed, need it at night, but no rain for months worth having, have only had the lawn mower man around twice this summer. Three Red parrots have eaten most of our apples, waste of time me putting the net over they just climb up the trunk and wave a wing at the window LoL

Re: Heat
Des, no serious rain here in Vic since early October last.
We are in one of our droughts, last one in the 90's lasted ten years with water restrictions.
Bit on the cold side Vernon, you need to be back closer to Sydney, maybe Penrith or Surrey Hills maybe!!!!!

Re: Heat
Hi John
If Vernon moves back down to Penrith he will have to learn a new language LoL
On the other hand not a bad idea as I just heard that the fresh water system in the Mountains is contaminated by a bad chemical used to put out a fire on a road tanker. And to think that my last five years at work I built two new water treatment systems there, one at Blackheath where he lives.
