Corruption in high places is not new.
If you look back over the years at sudden departures of politicians, senior public servants and even Pm there is always a story behind it.
Sadly rarely does the truth come out so they walk away with a nice big sum all paid for by the tax payer.

#11 Fouro , My understanding is ,the 4th Eng covered the 8/12 watch for the Chief Engineer as did the 3rd Mate cover for the Master

Those were the old ways of thinking and worked very satisfactory. Today on a lot of shipping it is master and mate , which means for a lot of masters is 6 on and stop on. The E.R. With an unmanned E.R. Is slightly a bit more relaxed until things go wrong. JS .
