Also in Woolwich at the Beresford Square Market, they all came over on the Woolwich Free Ferry from the royal docks

Re: As we get old
I dont know you Fred, but anyone who posts on here at 6.37am has got to be 91 ! I dont get up until the light peeps through the curtains. Its great to have some decent lighthearted discussions here , gets a bit heavy sometimes. When I was at sea ( aaaarrrgh mi hearties!), The golden rule...No Politics, .... No Religion meant so many happy hours yarning over a few beers at impromptu gatherings in someone's cabin. Forcing us all into a communal bar was a real " throw out the old, in with the new" idea, as well as giving the company a good measure of who was drinking the most ! I was at sea 40 years and loved the first 6 years with BP the most even though I had my wife with me latterly. Now lets discuss that !

Well Francis, Fred lives in NSW, so guess at 0635 GMT, he would be well into sipping his second Fosters after the sun has slipped over the yardarm!
As for wives at sea, already been beaten to death in a few forums on here, guess with the number of your postings since 2009 you may have missed a bit now and then

Re: As we get old
If he was a bridge man Ivan he could have well slipped up to the monkey Island to take an azimuth before the sun got too high , or even an amplitude remember that one ? Sin Amp =
Sin Dec Sec Lat. to get a compass error. JS

Re: As we get old
Sorry Ivan, it wasn't wives at sea I was going on about , it was enjoying the gatherings in cabins in " the olden days" and the introduction of bars. but I guess that's been done to death too !. Thanks for answering anyway. I only noticed later that Fred was in Oz that I realised my mistake. Just being Whimsical !

Francis most of our comments on here are made with tongue in cheek and no harm meant, believe me we do a lot of things to death on this site and also sail around in circles (around in circles, is that a double positive making it a negative, its too early!!)

Must have been something about our life at sea, I have stopped telling people how old I am as they don't believe me.
