Not so long ago Public School was also a term used for a Borstal, now the mordern term for Borstal is Young offenders detention centre.

Well today is the day that all the BS ends I hope and what a load of lies have been banded around. One on this site is that those not getting crossed of the election roll get a fine of $1300 when in fact it is $20. Thanks to the NO brigade I now have to mow the yard more times with all the BS that has been floating around lol. Personally hope that the referedum gets the nod as it will show that polsters got it wrong again.

#23 Have just looked up on internet , you are right. Within 3 months you will receive a notice of Why? If do not respond a fine of $20 . If do not reply on second time the fine is $50 . If still refuse to reply your driving licence may be revoked and the fines then become rather larger. The $1300 fine I saw was in some local media statement. As to losing driving licence that would not affect me , so it would have been cheaper for me to fork out $20 . The old adage don’t believe everything you read in the media is once again proved correct. JS

No matter the result we will have a divided nation.
But if the NO gets up I think the idea will fade very quickly, .
Excellent article today in paper, two well respected journalist put their case for each side.
The yes one concentrated on the outback communities being left behind.
The No one put the case for all the Aborigines who have done well including all in gov now.

One guy has asked why the term 'indigenous' is used to describe the Aboriginal population when the word means

Occurring, inhabiting or existing.
Which means all born here are indigenous.

Yes not what I wanted as an outcome but as Vern said it is all done and dusted now. I would like to thank our PM for not dallying about the referedum like the other mob did for eight years. He bought it to a head and now it is as said done and dusted and now everyone can get on without this distraction taking up the space of getting this country back to where it should be. No bitterness as the population spoke and that my friends is? The way the mop flops!
