#22 And yet both China and Russia in the past had Kings and Emperors. We all know the path Russia took and their history over the past couple of Century’s . China goes much further back and whatever Dynasty the Emperor went and was superseded by various warlords I wouldn’t have a clue . But looking at it generally at later history I think the people of China were better off with the likes of Mao Tse Tung and his communist era short as it was. Chang Kai Shek was the last of the war lords with the the same mentality. The present furore with Taiwan all these past incidents have a bearing on today’s problems. It was the so called Chinese National Army led by Chang that took over Taiwan , formerly Formosa . For those who visited Taiwan in the 50s and 60s will be aware of the at times martial law and curfews were brought into play . It has been an ongoing bed of hostility between the two chinas ever since. The real occupants of Formosa have been lost in the noise of loud mouthed politicians and would be politicians . JS

Unfortuatley John the present population doesn't read history, and the power people like to keep it that way, suits their political purposes.
A point in question is the greeting of the Jap PM by Albanese, as an ally against China only 75 years after they slaughtered Young Aussie prisoners of war and shot Australian nurses, and to make; in my mind matters worse it was the day after Anzac day that he annonced the meeting.
