Re: Central heating
No problems with condensation here where we live.
Face North so get the early morning sun in the house moving to the back during the day.
Weather is never that cold, only the occasional frost in mid winter and usually enough southern cold wind to keep the air moving.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Central heating
Your home setup sounds fantastic! Lucky you for avoiding condensation issues. The natural sunlight flow must be a game-changer. 😊 Have you considered designer radiators? They not only add a stylish touch but can enhance heating efficiency too. I stumbled upon some amazing options worth checking out for a cozy and chic vibe! Stay warm!

Re: Central heating
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on heat pumps. It's true, they're like the reverse of a fridge – pretty cool, huh? But yeah, the price tag can be a bit of a shocker.Personally, I hear you on sticking with gas or oil units, especially considering the upfront costs. Plus, with the market fluctuations, it's a bit of a gamble either way.Have you ever looked into night storage heaters? They might not be as high-tech, but they're a solid option for reliable heating without breaking the bank. Just a suggestion from someone who's all about keeping things practical.

Re: Central heating
Here in Oz most houses have ducted gas heating, though some still use log burners.
We had a big log burner as well as ducted heating, sitting front of the log burner on a cold winters night was great.
But wood costs rose, got to $360 a meter and we were burning 6 each winter.
Then some councils banned them saying they created to global warming?????
So we took ours out and put in a gas fire.
Fine at night when only using one room.
But this year added a reverse cycle air conditioner in the main living area, our old air con had died after some 24 years of use.
Great during the sunny winter days when it runs on our Solar system and cost nothing to run.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Central heating
Bit off Topic this but for Des! Brrrrr!!!
With that lens on, it was Cooma, a little further east, which was the coldest place in Australia, dropping to –8.9C on Thursday at its airport.
