That story was out years ago Vernon , and just another one hoicked out of the waste bin to suit the Occassion . Hopefully he will abdicate when he feels he has reached the age when he feels he can no longer carry on in all good faith , and the crown will be passed on to the proper person in line. As he is now 73 another 10 years would in all honesty be hoped for , others may think different , but as we live in a democracy and not a republic dominated by some over egotistic dictator , we can have our own opinions . Long Live the King however. JS

My understanding of the British Monarchy is that once anointed one cannot abdicate.

Here in Oz a plethora of news, much as repeats but with good size of original as well.
It is a time when One wishes we were still in London just to soak up the atmopsphere and revere the most gracious and humble lady the world has seen in many a long year, if ever before and certainly not again for many generations.

Persons such as her majesty only come along very rarely.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Is it any wonder Harry & Meghan cleared off to the USA, the sick British Press are at it again.

Her critics began wildly guessing if she was wearing a microphone, suggesting that it was due to the couple's $100million deal with Netflix.

#13. The actual story is about a conspiracy theory on Twitter which the Daily Mail was reporting on.

Yes I did read the article why is it always the Daily Mail that feels the need to report anything to make mischief about the Duchess of Sussex. I wonder does that newspaper hold a grudge against her because she took them to the high court and won her case against the paper.

#12 we would have to ask someone knowledgeable in Regal law on that one John but during the last years of Elizabeth’s reign when she was getting really frail, most expected and hoped she would abdicate and take a back seat and rest. She didn’t and it was never mentioned about the law you are inferring to, so would be surprised if it ever existed. In our lives we take sacred oaths and break those oaths , the greatest one is marriage and divorce , today more common than Fray Bentos Meat pies. I was extremely lucky and married a lady who also
So believed in promises . This was obvious to me when one of our daughters many friends came to my wife for advice and asked her how she managed to run the hearth and home with me being away sometimes over a year, this young girl was going out with a young seafarer who was away for 6 weeks maximum , my wife’s reply and I had my ear at the keyhole was “ I knew what I was marrying when I took my marriage vows “ . My wife would have ample excuses for a divorce during our married life , but she has stuck with me through thick and thin. She is now 83 years of age and mentally is not too well at times , but to me she will always be 17 when I first met her. I think the monarch can abdicate if in Ill health or physical disability , but I maybe wrong. Cheers JS

PS She had help with her duties in her final years by spreading those duties. To her family who stood up and did so , with a couple of exceptions . And the history books will always be aware of this. JS

John, loyalty such as shown by Her Majesty is fast becoming a thing of the past.
Loyalty now is often dictates by other facts such as money, betterment in society etc.
But like you I too have a wife very loyal she has to be to stay with me, but now married for some 54 years and been together for 55.
So I must be doing something right.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

She”ll always be your best friend as well John if you made the right choice, think I was drunk when first met , and she’s never drank in her life. Just goes to show leckies law unlike poles attract. However have to have been a wardrobe drinker at times to keep the peace. Cheers JS.
