It's no all bad you know, there's lots of people still making lots of money. Give a thought for those people supplying us with everything, the get moaned at and blamed every day for making billions out of increased prices, so it's not really fair is it. I mean, just because people are going without, starving and freezing to death, doesn't mean the fatcats are bad people, does it?
Then of course, our politicians could suffer financially if they curb the amounts the fatcats can amass, and we wouldn't want that to happen would we?

In just three months of this year BP made £5 billion in profits.
In the same period Shell made £7.3 billion.

Liz Truss, favourite among Tory voters to become next PM, has ruled out another windfall tax saying this is a Labour idea.
She has referred to help for millions of struggling households as handouts.
A handout is what you give to a beggar on the street. The people of UK are not beggars, they are families dreading the winter months faced with enormous gas and electric bills which they will not able to pay. Added to this are the ever rising prices in food, petrol and
    diesel.

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET BY PUTTING YOUR CROSS ON THE TORY CANDITATE AT THE GENERAL ELECTION.

The government is so far untroubled about Centrica’s decision and says the UK has already coped without the facility during previous periods of closure. From a FT article dates 16th August 2017.
If the utility companies had not been sold off by successive governments possibly things might not be as bad as they are.
Inflation in the UK in June 9.4% top 4 economies in the EU average 8.3%

Why should the Government have to pump money into a private sector owned utility companies? If the those companies are not prepared to fund their own companies and yet still pay out dividends the government should nationalise them. Foreign owned uitilty companies it would appear are just running existing power stations into the ground and thereby having the UK over a barrel. Pay up or get the candles out.

#12 Louis thankfully petrol and diesel + heating oil is slowly falling again, spotted petrol yesterday at £1.62 ltr big drop from just over a month ago when it was £2.00 a ltr. But seeing as Liz Truss & co are now calling Rishi a socialist it looks like the next PM will be Liz Truss. With luck she will call a snap election like the clown before Boris.

14 Obviously you don't watch the news. These are the headlines press and news channels are covering.

    Hi everyone,
I find this topic to be very boring. One thing I have learned from an M.B.E. is not to have too much faith in what is written in the media.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I must point out I am not politically minded, therefore in my opinion, God Bless the UK if Elizabeth Truss becomes Prime Minister.

    Regards from
    Fouro.
