Furo, the Queen having been anointed on June 2 1953 cannot abdicate, Edward did as he had not been anointed at that stage.
She also dedicated her life to the people and being a lady of honor will do that until her last day.
We had the concert here on Oz at 0430 hours, but a replay in the evening was far better.
The crowd, only the UK can get such in that sort of mood.
The technical details were excellent and so well syncronised.
The artists, Queen was great and appropriate if by name only.
Some of the others did little to stir my imagination or indeed some of the crowd.
Rod did not want to sing that song but was ordered by the BBC in an effort to keep the crowd engaged.
The whole show was typical British style and that is one of the few things we still miss about not living in the UK.
The cost, to hell with the cost, after the last two years of living hell the people need something to bring them back to life, it will stimulate the public for months to come.
And from what we heard 'mummy' enjoyed it also.
in a time of turmoil and conflict and disease affecting the world at large - what an icon the queen is for the world today - and what an show of love ! ( i am not even british !)Attachment 34743Attachment 34744
Throughout the celebrations the army bands provided the music for all the artists performing, remember those musicians were soldiers first and foremost who had been taught to play their instruments and provide the music for the likes of Andrea botecelli, Diana Ross, rod Stewart etc.
What a tribute to their capabilities.

Silly I know but to me, one of the best bits of the T.V. coverage was The Queen with Paddington Bear.
Brilliant.
It must be a bit of bear in me Graham as at the celebration here on Sunday spilt one of my two hip hip flasks over the table and soaked the table cloth. I was saddened by the loss of so much amber liquid., not only once but twice. I stood by for a broadside from my own personal majesty , but none came. She must have taken the view that it was less for me to drink. She’s always looking after my health she reckons. JS
Hi John
What a clever and dear way to toast the Queen.

II did hear that sales of bears has gone ballistic.
Marmlade sales also on the way up.
#65 very expensive way of doing things though Des , plus the fact it was the last of the whisky , and finished the night sober as a judge. May live 10 minutes longer though . JS
John, it may go a long way to help with memory loss, there again when in ones cups we babble a lot of nonsense we don't want our other halves to hear.
