Re: Daylight robbery.
The abbreviation X for Christ goes back a good way. I do a bit of genealogy and often find a 17thC priest has set down : Baptised, Xpofer son of Jno Jones or similar. He saves on vellum by shortening Christopher to Xpofer and Jonathan to Jno. But, I don't suppose modern users of Xmas will know much of suchlike.
Any road up - May you all have a perfect Christmas, Yule, Solstice, or whatever brings contentment and peace.

Yesterday,A What's App Group Message to a Yoga Class I used to attend-before my hips popped,my downward-facing dog went face-up ,and my face never recovered from seeing my own fundamental- the message said 'Happy Winter Solstice !'
Oh dear,I'm so glad I don't attend anymore.
