#69 John we asked at our local Terry White Pharmacy today for the booster shot.
They said they haven't been given the go ahead to take bookings yet. They indicated it would probably be in the new year.
So it will be Pfizer but not at 4mths....closer to 6mths. determined by Govt regulations.
They are still doing lots of others for their first dose!

Victoria, we were told by our GP that when time we will be contacted by the surgery as that is where we had our two jabs.

Told it will be with the same Vaccine as the original.
Time will tell about that one.

Some booster shots, six months after the last, are being given here on the big island to those considered to be at most risk.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

John I think you need to have a word with your GP, certainly here it is two shots of the same and the booster a different vaccine. I had AZ x2 and booster was Pfizer , asked why and the answer was the cocktail gives better protection.

    Hi Victoria.
As you know we have had problems obtaining Pfizer as the Add man lied about ordering them, but now they have an outbreak in the Northern Territory among the Aboriginals, the people I thought would have been given the jab long ago, but seems they are behind the eight ball, because as usual it is mainly B talk when the Govt say they are concerned.

#72 We didn't go to the GPs here as they were tardy about getting up so we went with the state Govt. one and had AZ twice.
This time the pharmacy said they are happy to give us Pfizer when they are given the go ahead.
It's just down the road so should be no big deal.
Son on Chemo is getting his booster soon, they have to pick the right time in his Chemo cycle to administer the jab.

#74 Des there comes a time when you need to get pro active yourself for these jabs.
A lot in the beginning here sat around expecting someone to contact them.....never happened.
That's why I got onto the Govt vaccination program and we travelled 50kms to get it well worth it. Got the jabs well ahead of those who were expecting others to organise it for them.
Same for the booster, we will keep checking at the pharmacy and when it's a green light we will front up.

Similar here Victoria, some well into their 70's not had a shot waiting for some one to tell them when.
    Simple, just ask!!!!

As to supply of Pfizer, the other day USA announced why we did not get supply in the early days.
They did not consider Oz to be in the same need as USA.
So supply was held back until numbers of vaccinated in USA rose.

We will be told in January when and what Vaccine we will be given as a booster.
It will be up to the health department to decide which one we have.
At present that is the same as your first one, but yes that could change.

There is talk that the reason for the Pfizer as a booster is not to do with health, more to do with Pfizer profit which has been stated at about $3 billion for the last year.

    Hi Victoria.
We didn't hesitate , it was just that the jabs were not available in Cooma, at least we couldn't get one. {We have had both now}it was only my wife's Specialist who organized it after telling her she would not survive Covid, prior to that it was a shambles

Same here Des. Tasmania that little island that is often left off maps of Australia with only about 500,000 population.
There was quite a delay before we were able to get some vaccines sent here,
Our vaccination rates well up there but you guys in ACT take the prize.....well done.
