Vern, Denmark were going to beat us because they have a great record against England at wembley, Its Italy who have a tough game on there hands with this England side Terry.

I just heard that someone was shining a laser at Schmeichel, some fan that is then?

Brian's Post re Stadium Tragedies....Very Sad. Happened again and again ,didn't it? At Hillsborough(1989),Heysel Brussels (1985),Bradford City (1985),Ibrox (Glasgow Rangers (1971)).

Lest we forget. Those supporters loved the game ...and they never came home.

Like Captain Kong, i have never had much interest in soccer, but was in Capetown or Durban in 1966 with a T.V. on board so the whole crew watched the game and of course vast quantities of alcohol were consumed and we all enjoyed it.
So last night watched the game so now seen 2 games in 55 years and it's enough for me.
Only game i became very interested in was Aussie rules and after about 5 years of not really understanding the game i became a true fan, and saw many games at Waverley and the M.C.G.
I really miss it, and folllowed Hawthorn although they have slumped badly over the years.
And for you people in N.S.W. it's far better than rugby.

UEFA are looing at fining the FA for the English fans behaviour last night.
    1) The fines if given will be for disrespecting the Danish Anthem (booing by English fans).
    2) Shining the laser on Scmichael on his face prior to the penalty kick, although he has not complained.

Yea i watched it on the box Tony and that incident was shown but to be honest Schmeichel never mentioned it during or after the game there are some bloody idiots alright but i dont think he even noticed it himself if it happened Terry.

Fact most football fans behave and love the sport but it only needs a few gobsh-tes and the media love it when it all kicks off.
I love when some big strapping rugby player is nearly reduced to tears by the ref for some minor infringement , players have respect for officials in Rugby. Footballers are often heard to be verbally abusive to the officials. A lot of the problems with how football officials are mistreated has to lie at the door of Alex Ferguson & Man Utd, why? because the number of times you would see players en masse surrounding the ref.
Best one liner I heard during a rugby match was from my all time favourite ref Nigel Owens Attachment 32799 He penalised a lineout, I think it may have been during the world cup final. Bloody hell even I am straighter than that was.
Nigel Owens came out as being gay, now that took some balls to do that, especially in a physical sport like rugby. I have yet to see a rugby player whingeing because they chipped a finger nail.
My most memorable game was Aussie rules footy at the MCG, local derby game, fans all mixed, beer flowing, banter tremendous - NO BOTHER, before, during or afterwards.
