Re: TV Licences.
How any member can say the fee is good value must have rocks in his head.
If the BC is anything like our ABC, and I have seen both, then it is crap personified.
If commercials can survive on adds then what si wrong with the national broadcaster doing the same.
AS to pensions and other monies.
Nothing can be hidden from the tax man, here in Oz all benefits are means tested so any money over the limit effects how much you can get.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: TV Licences.
#24.. I pay about $5.50 times 6 which is subsidised rate much reduced which is roughly $33. My wife pays approx. half this another $17 say , which is a total outlay of $ 50 a month. However from the end of June this year we reached the threshold and all medication is free until the first of January. So one could say we contribute $300 per annum to our total medical benefits apart from dentistry. I find this fair as we receive a part Australian pension also. The present scheme I find no fault with , however have not yet looked at the overhaul system mentioned. However have no doubt it is the usual political moonshine playing with peoples minds so am in no hurry , quite happy to pay nothing for the next 6 months. I am not politically active which you cannot say for politicians , who are only active when they can try and put their opposition in a bad light. So I just ignore most of the twaddle. Cheers JS.

Do not think anyone mentioned good value for money ?
Most things can be deemed cheaper or cheaper at half the price.
A sandwich short of a picnic, bats in the belfry, the lights are on, but no one is home etc.
Rocks in his head, seems a bit strange must be an antipodean thing ?

Re: TV Licences.
I think we should all keep in mind, If the T.V. License is scrapped and the BBC Have to become independent and advertise to raise there funds, It would deprive us of other independent channels they would go under overnight. Terry

#28 I want my rights, I dont know what they are but I want them seems to be the general attitude of most today. If the truth was known most of them are entitled to nothing. Charity is not compulsory yet ! JS
