Figures, as shown in one post, can be used in any manner to achieve the result you want. Schools of today are very often run by left wing socialists who think they can manipulate the kids to their way of thinking. Then there are the 'Greta' type manipulated and used by those who want a certain outcome. Kids here in Oz come in two types, the city born and bred who are very often not the sharpest knife in the box, then the ones born in the bush. The ones who rely on the school of the air, who do not have night clubs and pubs close by, kids who have to do their share on the farm. They are the real kids of today and many, most likely understanding what life is like on the other side, prefer to stay on the farm.

Not worried about what occurs down under, this way apart from a few, the kids are all right. K.

Can someone explain why the UK has had a right wing conservative government since 2010 and a right wing Minister of Education why have they not stomped out all these lefty local education authorities? or is it just that they simply do not exist.
Lewis, not so easy. I spent 14 years as a senior admin officer in Uni here. We had a teacher training unit, most of the students you would not give broom to sweep the road with, but they got in as the entry level is low. Most were of the Left, and some extreme Left, who think they can change the world. Problem is most are members of some teaching or other union and getting rid of them is no easy task. It takes, as we here in Oz are discovering, a long time to change the education culture.
I have many friends who are or were school teachers and there politics are split 3 ways not one of them is extreme left wing. Just because you vote labour does not make you a communist, exactly the same as if you vote Conservative does not make you a right-wing extremist. If you are a Nationalist does not make you hate every other nation.
Lewis, it may well vary between countries and here in Oz between states. Though there is a federal education department the states have their own autonomy in this subject.
