As normal John i accept your Version, but still stand by my Theory of Climate Change, since we have come here to Aussie, the Weather had done some amazing changes, and this is another such !

The Hawksbury was at some 13 Metres above just about 4 hours ago and rising still, so could get to that 15 mark as well ????

There have as you say been other times as well with severe Floods , possibly those were your Normal events of Weather patterns. But as we all think differently who is right and who is not! That is the Question?? LOL

As there are so many People that believe of Climate change there must be something to it!??

    Cheers

My barometer has dropped from 30 to 29 in the last hour, we may be in for a spell of rough stuff.
Have opened a new bottle of Gin and will sit back to see what occurs, if anything.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#23 Have you got a box outside called a Stevenson Screen John , inside is a dry and a wet bulb thermometer, if you go and put your knowledge to good use and work out the Dewpoint you will then know if it is going to rain or not and get your inflatable out and have time to blow up, especially if have lost the pump for same.
If no one will tell you what dewpoint is , its the temperature at which air must be cooled to cause condensation. You are now as knowledgeable as some of these weather experts you see on your telly. Your Aneroid barometer which I assume it is , is a good indicator for rises and falls of barometric pressure , but if you need the more correct reading there are 2 corrections to be made , height above sea level , and index error ,the I.E. can be corrected by a screw usually on the back of the instrument by the use of a screw driver but will have to know what the correct pressure should be , phone your local weather station and find out, they’ve got better barometers than you. What kind of gin.? Beefeaters or Gordon’s although considered a woman’s drink would always be willing to try. As a strong believer in the equality of the sexes. Cheers JS

Woman's Drink ??? How dare you sir, the old West Africa hands would have you keeled hauled for such a sedicious remark. When in Takoradi many moons ago I was invited ashore to 'The Club' and saw many members dipping their fingers in their Gin & Tonics and rubbing their faces and arms and was told it was the best mosquito repellant known to man.

Gordons to me is the 'only' gin and Pussers Rum the king of rums.

I'd give Bombay Saphire a go if pushed Ivan. I don't go much on these new fangled flavoured gins, strawberry, mint, etc etc, kt

Ivan, Gordons is fine provided you get export strength, their standard in the uk has been "under strength" at 37.5% for years, Beefeater still maintains at 40% fo a similar price. For an excellent demerara rum at reasonable price, you cant go wrong with OVD, very common behind the bars in Scotland.

Was always told it was a woman’s tipple together with a hot bath for doing self abortions. Apart from an excuse to go with the tonic for the fight against malaria. Sailed with a chief engineer ex RN who would never have any water with it as had caught dysentery in Malta during the war , and apparently there were quite a few deaths to it due to bad water supply, something you never hear about. Would be partial to a pink one any time of the day or night . Cheers JS

Just been down to the shops for two demijohns of water, for drinking purposes, the river we get the town water from the Murrumbidgee will soon be flowing with mud.
Is this what you saw Victoria.

#30 Theres only one positive answer to that Des. If put a drop in your Pink Gin to help mix the angostoru bitters, you could always say with hand on heart, Heres mud in your eye. Cheers , hope the break in the weather forecast , gets the start of clearing up underway before too long. JS
