Re: Covid
Had a text from our GP to say we will have it later this week all being well.
As to the variants, al viruses do that, but each variant gets weaker until the point where it loses it's form.
According to one specialist from the AZ group within two years this will be no worse than the common cold.
It is a corona virus as is the flu and the cold.

Re: Covid
Yes Victoria, we have a number of Flu cases here already but the vaccine for that is not being roiled out yet as it must be two weeks apart from the other one.

Re: Covid
One other small point, if you are due an operation, it will not be done within 14 days of having the jab.My wife is having her pre med for a new knee op on the 8th April, so having this info being given to her, bit of a panic, had to phone the Dr, and jump the queue for her 2nd jab, being done tomorrow, kt

Correct Lewis, as a number have discovered when they still got the virus within a day or so of the injection

Re: Covid
A text this morning from our GP to say they have had a large delivery of the Vaccine and to make an appointment.
Bludgers are closed today Good Friday but I will be at their front desk at 0800 hours in the morning.
Victoria, be very careful when you escape, you may find the big island is not what it once was.

Re: Covid
Called to the GP this morning at 0800 hours to be told a clinic for vaccinations would be open next week and details taken.
On way home I remembered her in doors had already given them earlier in the week.
Fast forward to 11.30 hours and a phone call, get your backside down here for 1300 hours to get the Vaccination.
Before having it there is a form to fill in, usual stuff but I found out that according to the GP who gave us the injection mother in law is not classified as an alergy.
Flu in two weeks and second Vaccination June 28th at 14.30 hours.

Re: Covid
In today's 'i'' weekend newspaper:
LINK
It's always been the same for we seafarers throughout history.
The photo they are using is maybe just an archive photo as they sometimes do. The Dusseldorf Express was last called that in 1996 and there is no newer vessel of that name. She was scrapped in 2009 so that definitely is an archive photo despite the photo caption showing a date from last week ! I can't make out the vessel ahead as my eyesight is not the same as when I was a navigator all those years ago,and I don't have my binoculars, last used on a bird-watching trip-well,that was my excuse.....
