Chloe is probably correct. I do recall the portrait along the back wall who appeared lovelier the more Fosters was consumed up to the six'oclock swill. With respect to Kong I'm certain it was in Fremantle.

Re: XMAS, or LOCK DOWN JANUARY, Your thoughts.
The one in Freemantle was also called Chloe's as i knew ??
Cheers
But also of course the Famous one in Melbourne
Chloe, the queen of the bar room wall, finds home in Queensland country pub as a fine art fake - ABC News
From her position high on the wall, Chloe has cast a watchful eye over the drinkers at Young and Jacksons for more than a century.
Soldiers and sailors, plumbers and prime ministers have all turned up for a drink at the landmark pub, and stolen a glimpse of Australia's most famous nude. In coming months, that crowd may swell to include art lovers after Chloe has been valued at $5 million, making her one of the most expensive artworks in the country

#46.. The P & O used to be the meeting place for the merchant service guild in the back room. Any members who were home on leave were expected to attend , think it was a Friday morning and usually finished at the official opening time of the bar. JS.

Re: XMAS, or LOCK DOWN JANUARY, Your thoughts.
Only place i remember in Fremantle was a restauarant called the 'Captain Fremantle' (1970's) the garlic prawns were heavenly and large. The other memorable event was tying to quell fights when changing a vessel from Greek to Yugoslav crew, knives and gun waving in abundance, when ancient grievances that the participants were too young to have been involved in, all because someones uncle had insulted their mother's uncle's sister's cousin's brother's nephew's cousin two hundred years ago, in the end had to call in armed police to settle them down. The Greeks locked the Yugoslavs out of the engineroom, once that was resolved and the Greeks finally paid off the Yugolavs fought amongst themselves because someone had insulted their mother's uncle's sister's cousin's brother's nephew's cousin 100 hundred years ago. The joys of being a supt on foreign flag ships.

Melbourne, six o'clock swill was all the go back then.
Chloe is in Young and Jacksons Melbourne true name is the bridge hotel.
Now in an upstairs place as there have been a number of attempts to vandalize her.
We got chucked out of there way back in 64, Scouce after a day on the sauce said she could do with a shave and asked the barman for a razor.
Some have no sense of humor.
Happy daze John in Oz.

You are not alone. My wife and I are doing exactly the same. You know it makes sense, I know it makes sense. Because of the selfishness of a few we are in this yoyo position of reducing infection rate then escalating it again. It will probably happen again between now and Christmas as people relax and start mixing again. Just hope the vaccine arrives quickly and that it does in fact work.
