Apparently, Boris Johnson is facing demands to ‘call out’ Donald
Trump for denying his defeat in the US election.

Rodders, not unlike here in Oz.
If the difference is less than 1% a recount can be called for.
But officially the final result cannot be confirmed until all postal votes, absentee etc have been accounted for but must be received by a pre determined date. I would assume USA is similar.

The proportion of Biden’s victory in the popular vote crept up to 50.8% on Wednesday, the highest percentage for a challenger since Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1932. Judges in six states had thrown out at least 13 lawsuits brought by the Trump campaign to challenge the vote while agreeing to hear zero. There is every indication that Biden will be inaugurated on 20 January.

Justices of the Supreme Court serve for life and cannot be replaced except high crimes. They have this mandate in order that they cannot be pressured by ANY president or future president or organization. They are totally independent of outside influence. They are the court of last resource. And claims pro or con of legal nature must proceed up the legal chain of command. There job is to make sure the case before them does not go against the constitution. They are supposed to keep their personal preferences outside their judgement.

The reason why these claims by Trump are failing is they are poorly written and thought out with no basis for claim. That is experts legal opinions and not anti Trump bias on my part. That is why they have moved up the legal chain so rapidly and are being tossed out.

Remember the current make-up of the Supreme Court is predominantly Republican appointees by Trump.

Johnno, Yes, one slight exception as I mentioned. The margins vary by State. Some can have a recount with no margin, the others can have difference ranging from a low of 0.01% to 0.05% or a minimum differential of 2000 votes or 10,000 votes. Within these ranges the state pays the cost, outside these ranges the one calling for a recount pays.

Rodders, I am going to throw a wobbler into this now.
Comments from a number of sources here say this will be a third term for Obama!

An Obama in white skin was one such comment.
He has been speaking a lot of late, more than I can recall of any previous President after the election, and yes I agree this one is very different.

But I sincerely Hope that Biden runs his own race and is not constrained by ant previous president.

Apprently, Joe Biden has won Arizona - flipping Republican stronghold and boosting margin of victory
over Donald Trump, giving Mr Biden 290 Electoral College votes, with Mr Trump on 217.

For me the past four years has been like watching an unbelievable American movie.
The starring role played by the worst actor ever to appear on screen. Why has the make up department painted his face orange and given him a ridiculous hair style which no one else in the world has ? Audiences are not going to pay to watch a film as bad as this unless they think they are going to watch a comedy.
Unfortunately it was not a movie but real life, which proves the point fact is stranger than fiction.
