    Default National Archives

Some good news from the National Archives is that they are open for researching in Person on a Booked Basis, so one must Book first.
Also their online request Service for Records are also back up, but at this stage one can only send in a request from late Friday to Sunday, this being that they can catch up on what has been asked for the previous Week.
So at least one way or the other Seamans Records are again available ! Great!

These Records are a flat rate of 8 GBP and 40 cents , for the request Non Refundable , and then whatever other charges that may be incurred once they find the Files. However once you have paid the initial fee they will contact you with an Estimate, and it is then up to you if you go ahead or not, no futher charges will apply if you decide not to.

And note at this time while the Covid is still active there are many free Records , but only those that have already been Digitised.

NB Please remember for all requests and Ordering you must Join. Dont worry its Free!

That is indeed good news for YOU folks in the U.K. Here in the United States, since WE have been totally stupid about the handling of COVID-19, we are still " locked out " and becalmed...
