fijian islands
just seen richards name on site....i know of his association with lautoka and the fijian islands .....in61 i paid my ist visit to lautoka in the mv riseley a stephen suttons tramp...i had a great time fishing and drinking the kava plus other seamens hobbies.....the people were so freindly ......even walked on the fire pit ......never felt any pain ...could have bee the kava.....on sailing i was walking past a broom locker and heard a scuffling inside ...was it a rat no it was a pair of white eyes belonging to a fijian boy of about 10 or 11 years of age.....asking what he was doing there he informed me he wanted to go to england to sea robin hood in sherwood forest .....well we all have our dreams.....guess he must be in his 60s now ...he was put ashore on another island which sent a canoe out for him.......just wonder if he ever got to the uk ...any way good to see you still on site richard best wishes and regards cappy

I too have been to the Fiji Islands several times on my world Cruises in retirement. Unfortunately I had to behave myself as SHE had her eyes on me all the time , Another true paradise in the south seas.

Fiji, yes some place, lovely people and beautiful lands.
Had it's problems over the years but is stable now.
The Kava, not for the feint hearted.
