The Antarctic Blob
Well awoke this Morning after the News last Night saying that we were in for a hit from the Antarctic Blob! Said Wild Winds, Rain, Hail and Snow for many NSW Areas!
I did not hear much during the night but when looking through the Window when awakening, saw the Ground and Trees etc were covered with a nice bit of Snow!
This is the first we have had here this Year and looks like possibly the last, as its just a passing Blob, and apparently the last of our what has ben a cold Winter!
So not as bad as we all thought so far,but of course its still early here so possibility of mpre Wild Weather later Today and some on Sunday! ??
Temp. not too bad here at -3 degrees and a Top Today of 6 Deg. But on the Mobile it says feels like -10 with the Wind Chill Factor! Not too far off i guess!
With the Gas Central Heating going, its so nice a cosy inside ! LOL
cHEERS
I am sure that our Des will be a lot colder and also possibly a lot more of the white stuff! Keep Safe there in Cooma! Des!

re: The Antarctic Blob
Arctic? or Antarctic Doc, must have froze the You-know-whats (plural) of the Africans passing down.
I said when somebody asked me why I picked South Carolina, when I retired and moved from the New York area. I told them I started walking South with a snow shovel over my shoulder, and the first time somebody said "What the hell is that thing." that's where I was going to live. And here I am in South Carolina.
Lived here Thirty odd years, and it snowed once two inches. It was a disaster, accidents galore, electric out for a week. We had to move out of our house and into a hotel, near froze to death.
I could have used the bloody shovel, I dumped it after the first year here.
Cheers, and thanks for your efforts on this site.
Rodney.

Re: The Antarctic Blob
We have had no snow in Cooma this year, been to cold, one night was down to minus 8 with the wind chill about minus 80. For some reason the winds all move up from Victoria towards Canberra. Could be something in that.

Re: The Antarctic Blob
Yes Vernon, we had some of that white crap the other week.
Thankfully it only stayed on the ground for about an hour.
When living in UK we got it every winter and it caused so much trouble that now any one who wast it is welcome to it, just keep it away from me.
It looks great on postcards, best place for it.
Happy daze John in Oz.
