Cannot recall if i have mentioned this, however in Southampton on one of our Shore leaves (Two Weeks , on full pay, with my late Brother) i was brewing up a naughty move, so i decided to go and look at some Cars in the one Car lot they then had in the Hight Street.
And there it was just what i was looking for, a lovely Ford Zypher Zodiac, Dark Blue Open Top with Leopard Skin Seat Covers, she looked a beauty.
Now for the naughty part. We walked in spoke to one of the Sales Persons (He was a young chap as well) and asked if i could g for a test drive in the Zephyr. Of course was the reply, so he got the Keys and said How long a test will you be taking? Oh about 15 minutes or so i said,and with that i started her up, Boy! what a beautiful sound she had.
Took her real slow into the Main Drag, until out of sight then decided to see if i could handle4 her!
Now before i g any futher i had never yet Driven a Car (So taking it out the Lot was really nerve racking )
Anyway i managed to drive it quite a way, but like a lot of things in life, when taking a corner i was going a bit too fast, and Yes you guessed! I hit the Sidewalk and straight into a Pole!
Well with that i made a fast stop, leaving the Car on the pavement up against the Pole and me and Greg Legged it back to the Jellico Mission!
Thank goodness we were never asked any questions about who or what we did!
Dont ever know what happened, but got clean away with it!

I had an anti rust applied to a 4 wheel drive I had.
It worked for many a long year and i traded it for a Land Rover some years later.
About three years ago I saw the vehicle for sale in a country car yard, I knew it was mine as at one time I had the number plate etched into the glass.
Advice from the RACV as we were going bush.
It was looking very sad by now at about 30 years old.
But no sign of rust in the doors, so maybe that stuff worked.

I was actually sat on my car and it was stolen from underneath me.

I started the story when SHE called me for lunch.
So I tried again but SHE shouted Smoko
Now dinner is almost ready so I will try and get the post finished before SHE shouts Dinner.
A few years ago we had a business in a Warehouse on an Industrial Estate.,.
I went to pick HER up in my car, an Escort. I drove up to the door, and parked about three feet off it, climbed out and opened the door and shouted "Are you ready?" She was nearly ready so I sat on the bonnet of the car and was talking to her as she was putting her coat on,
I felt the car go down a bit and as I turned my head to see what was happening it started and zoomed backwards, I fell on the floor and a fellow drove off in my car and disappeared.
I called the Police and reported it,
Next day it was found in Halifax, Yorkshire.
Fortunately I had a friend in the AA and he arranged to have it transported back to me. free.
The car was a filthy mess inside, he had pi55ed all over the seats etc, and full of rubbish.
Sp I had to have a full Valet on it. It didnt feel the same after that so I got rid and got a big Volvo.
so that was it.
