Re: Sweets
Worst was when you visited gran on a Sunday,
always offered a bowl of nuts, years later you
found out she had licked off all the chocolate
before you got there.

Me at 80 too and still plenty of Condensed Milk!
Actually Victoria and this is Gospel, i was brought up on Condensed Milk ,with me dear late Mother not able to use her own Milk at that time, and the Baby Milks apparently made me very sick,so was told to try the Condensed Milk and wallah! here i still am! It was i believe mixed with something else though for more Nutrition, think it may have been Sanatogen or something Similar Possibly Dry Gin LOL
Cheers

Re: Sweets
Bassets Liquorice Allsorts
Love the story of how they got the name. Apparently, they used to be sold as separate sweets but one day the salesman and shop owner accidently tipped them all onto the shop counter. Getting fed up with resorting them they just tipped them all into the same Jar and said why don’t we just call them all sorts.
We have a large old Allsorts can which we use as a tea caddy, I’m reminded of them several times a day.
