Re: Play it again
Maybe it is just as we mature, but the songs of our generation will continue long into the future, unlike some of the ones of today.
Music by the Beatles, Presley, Sinatra, ABBA, Elton and Queen as well as many others are still played today.
The best ones such as Elton and Queen made it to the big screen and will be around for many years to come.
Not far from where we live is the site of the 1970's Sunbury music festival. Queen were kicked off the stage but Freddy said, 'we will become the most famous band of all'.
A new housing development is taking place there and on the side of the large building that is the sales center a local artist has painted a mural of the four members of Queen with Freddy front and center.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Play it again
Queen performed in 1974. They arrived late, and were initially booed, but they finished their set despite crowd screams of "go back to Pommyland, ya pooftahs". Lead singer, Freddie Mercury retorted with "When we come back to Australia, Queen will be the biggest band in the world!"

QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT RATED #1 AUSTRALIA
The Suncorp Stadium patrons have spoken! The number one concert by a HUGE margin was Queen + Adam Lambert's 2020 Rhapsody Tour. Even with torrential rain during the night, fans are still raving about it months later, it must have been one great concert! https://brianmay.com/queen/queennews...may20b.html#21

Re: Play it again
This one takes me back along way. I can still see one of the lads " Calypso Smith " on a rope swing bawling it out at the top of his voice.

Re: Play it again
Hi Victoria.
My wife and I call the singers these days The Screaming Skulls, keep singing the same word over and over, our local Woolworth's has them on all the time, I have sent the head of Woolies e-mails about it to no avail. The local manager is as thick as a plank, can't understand why people are deserting the store.

Re: Play it again
I would have thought that the Who's "won't get fooled again" would be a fair anthem for most seafarer's.

Re: Play it again
Ingrid Bergman / Ilsa Lund:
Ilsa: Play it once, Sam. For old times' sake.
Sam: I don't know what you mean, Miss Ilsa.
Ilsa: Play it, Sam. Play "As Time Goes By."
Sam: Oh, I can't remember it, Miss Ilsa. I'm a little rusty on it.
Ilsa: I'll hum it for you. Da-dy-da-dy-da-dum, da-dy-da-dee-da-dum...
Ilsa: Sing it, Sam.
