When the masks come off
The world currently is going through some extremely tough times, but they will, as was the case with any war, end one day. But what then?
I have two good friends here in Sunbury, Tony the Chinese who owns two restaurants and about 27 houses.
But the houses are not actually his.
When he sees one for sale, suitable for renting out he contacts the right people in China, the money arrives and he buys.
Then there is Barry the Chinese jeweler, he is into the stock market.
When it is down he receives money from China to buy up big on shares.
They are only two of many doing the same thing, but it will not end there.
Already china has bought into Australia in a big way, though the government has put a stop to any future deals on buying here until all this is over. They do not want them picking over the bones of the companies here on their knees.
But where are the various governments of the world obtaining the money they are handing out like lollies?
You guessed it China, and some from Russia, the worlds two largest sources of loans.
Many other countries will be in severe strife when this is over, but there will be help, of course from China.
They will continue to do what they currently do, give a loan and when you cannot repay take over what you used the finances for.
Through all of this China will be a big winner, it will increase it's hold on global matters, own more real estate, more companies and countries.
For them the Virus has become a winner in a very big way, we in the west have yet to find out how much, but do not underestimate the Chinese, this only brings their domination of the world a step closer.
Many years ago it was said by a writer, 'Beware the yellow peril' now it would appear to be a very apt contribution.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: When the masks come off
There are many of the opinion that China started covid-19 to accomplish what you have intimated in #1. Those of us who have been to China before their financial revolution know that they were no respecters of international law. patents etc or the lives of their own citizens in the furtherance of their own goals.

Re: When the masks come off
I think we would be surprised at just how much of our country is owned by foreign money, the oil producing Arabs have been buying up all the large estates for years here in UK, the estates with massive farm holdings, the Chinese virtually own all the copper mines in Africa, large railway lines etc, the Russians in the last few years have been doing similar, here in UK, plus as we all know football clubs. The world now is such a small place. Who would have thought that in our day, Australia was weeks away, even flying to Australia was a long time and frequent flight change, if you could afford it , now of course, one non stop flight, all in 18hrs. Think i prefer the world as we all knew it in our time at sea, kt
