Re: Drydock=Hospital
A red light outside a Japanese bar was not a knocking shop as some thought , but a sign to say it was Japanese only. I only frequented once as the guest of a Japanese port captain. Much more classy than the bars we frequented and the beer much cheaper also. The class 1 and class 2 bars displayed on their entrance on the bars we used to visit denoted that class 2 were out of bounds to US forces and most of us used them .It also denoted that a communable disease had occurred there. Cheers JS

Re: Drydock=Hospital
Not sure about this being applicable to merchant vessel but I think two black balls one above the other means "vessel not under command"

Re: Drydock=Hospital
#23 Yes thanks Malcolm, not less than 2 feet in diameter and not less than 6 feet apart. Have you heard the one about the examiner who said correct, and what does it show at night, the candidate had a memory blockage , and as a last resort said I would shine the Aldis lamp on the two black balls. Cheers JS

Re: Drydock=Hospital
I thought I had two of them black ones.
By my GP tells me it is only a cyst giving them that color.
