Our Parish Council has divided the village into areas with volunteers. So, a younger neighbour shops for us. Brilliant. Not Supermarket big shopping but the local Butcher , Bakery and small Co-op Store. Everyone pulling together. Marvellous.
Sometimes I want to ,'Do a Khrushev' (remember him?) and bang my shoe or throw it at the BBC News ! If there is s/thing negative they will find it ! Hope that Boris and Matt Hancock recover quickly.
    regards

I think the BBC set out to find negative news, and if there isn't any then they will put a reverse spin on good news. I am very disappointed with another MN related site where-in some of the contributors are making a joke, almost gleefully of Boris Johnson becoming a victim of covid-19, I found it sad.

One big problem with onsite shopping is, many older people here, me included, don't have on line banking. But not to worry our Granddaughter who works in Coles supermarket is going to look after us.

    Hi Victoria.
Our daughter stove was playing up and dangerous so she went down to our local electrical goods shop, got a good deal as they were in a very buoyant mood, had sold out all their freezers, hadn't sold so many in years. We are OK as we both went through the war and are used to having a few stores as backup.
As an aside one thing I just learnt was, that during the Spanish Flue epidemic most of the people who died were young. A bit like the Scarlet fever.I think all the people who have died here are over 60

Ivan 314, you are not on a desert island on that one, our ABC along with most commercial stations only produce doom and gloom, much of it so twisted and tainted that it is hard to understand their motives.
But at all cost they must sell copy so maybe that is why they do it.

But I am a bit disappointed with Boris, only a couple of months in the job and taking sick leave already!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL, get well soon mate, your country needs you.

But there it is this thing knows no boundries.

Our supermarkets are at full push to keep up with demand for home deliveries and they are now reducing hours of operation along with Bunnings and the few remaining shops still open.

One good point, Woolworths our largest supermarket chain is taking on some 20,000 additional employees to fill shelves and keep the stores going.
