We have here in Oz a singer by the name of ,Missy Higgins'
Her father is a doctor who came back from overseas with what he considered to be just a cold.
He continued with his surgery but then considered to have the test.
He discovered he was in the last stages of the virus, which according to him was no worse than a cold.

So far about 100 cases here with 3 deaths all over 80 and with severe health issues.
Of those who have recovered it has taken only 3 to 4 days before the symptoms have gone.
Not my words but those of the people who recovered.

On the news today, total known infections globally now at about 280,000 of which about 5,000 have died.

One senior medical officer here made the following comment about the Virus in EU region.
'It is the hight of the Flu season there and how many of those reported sick have only the Flu'?

There is talk about holding major events such as soccer matches with no spectators.
If that is so then no more travelling on trains, buses, coaches, no more going to the shopping malls, restaurants, theatre or the movies. All have multiple persons there.

No one is saying this is any thing but serious, but the carry on by the media is making it far worse.

This is a virus, the common cold is a virus, Rhinovirus, one of many we experience every year.

Much of China is now going back to work with those in the province where it all began back on the streets again, in the news tonight.

The mass buying of toilet rolls, rice, sugar, pasta, and flour is quite amazing.
But according to one report much of it will go back to China in a very large shipment. Milk powder for babies here is shipped back to China by the container load.
Selling here for maybe $10 it will sell in China for up to 6 times that. Causes problems for the local mums as often the shelves are empty causing restrictions on the amount you can buy.
This has been going on now for years.

This issue is brining forward some very odd responses.
Our Grand Prix set for Sunday has been cancelled.
According to our State Premier through fear of the Virus, but from the Formula One syndicate it is because two teams have withdrawn, take your pick on which one.
Currently a one day cricket match between Oz and NZ is being played at an empty stadium.

    But yesterday was a beauty.

Bronwyn Bishop is a retired Feral MP of the Liberal party, not one to hold back and will always speak her mind.
Last night she was interviewed on 'Sky News International' and what she said was quite amazing.

'This Virus was developed by the Chinese to remove non working from the community".

But today our stock market is up as some Chinese factories go back to work, mainly in the area of the original Virus outbreak.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

No matter how you play with your calculator you cannot get away from the fact that the spread and speed of spread of this virus across the world is extremely alarming. The accounts of doctors in northern Italy of their decisions on who should be treated and who should not and would therefore die is horrifying and no idle fake news, young people too in their late thirties and early forties not just the elderly. You say that 90% of deaths are of people with underlying health conditions. Yes this is true but in very many of those cases the people would have still been alive today had it not been for the Coronavirus, they may have had underlying health conditions but they were not in danger of dying from them just yet. This is reality, reality for which there is no excuse - Coronavirus kills people of all ages and especially the elderly and infirm and we should respect what the medical experts tell us and try and follow their instructions without alleged reality check reactions.

Not certain how we go from soccer to the virus but, Chris is absolutely correct.

Now the Football Clubs are reaping what they have sown - players, coaching staff, managers, you name it are going down with the virus. They should have voluntarily cancelled all matches and encouraged the preventative measures of reducing the spread of the virus in large crowds, especially not inviting foreign fans to visit the UK. They have no doubt increased the spread unnecessarily to the detriment of all. Now they are paying the price.

I am really lost for words as it would appear that ' Football Rules over Life and Death, all they care about is money, money money and 22 people kicking a bag of wind around.

Though a Rugby Union fan, difficult to understand why Wales v Scotland hasn't been postponed. 75000 people in close contact in the ground, in pubs and restaurants and on public transport. The only game to go ahead.

#11. John if you really want to cut back on the cost of living , just go green, keep all your grass cuttings and utilise in place of toilet paper. This will also assist climate change as your grass will have less likelihood of bursting into flame , all that is needed is an extra bit of effort by cutting the grass more often., only slight problem you might encounter is the extra time in picking out and discarding the nettles. Cheers JS

The next worry from the cancellations of football and rugby is that the fanatical supporters , of which i am not one, will all head for a pub showing the matches live, and end up just as congested and affected. It will be interesting to see how long these clubs spending multi millions in wages can continue with nothing coming through the gates, kt

The Wales v Scotland match was called of to late to prevent our Celtic cousins travelling,
as Keith posted the visitors had a choice to just go back hundreds of miles or head for a pub.
