Re: Global Warming
We have just had two or three days of warm sunny days. now today it is cold and Raining.
The whole nation was nearlet shut down , Panic./
All it was , the wind blew from the south bringing warm air from the Sahara, today the wind is from the NW bringing rain and cold air,
The Daft Greens are making a great fuss about it. now they will be putting more Tax on my little car, at the moment £300 a year , I only do 2000 miles a year , 40 miles a week., We don't have Road Tax any more, now it is Climate Tax.

Re: Global Warming
Hi John
instead of paying the £300 a year tax, I would have to spend a few thousand Pounds,
they have me by the goolies.
The man across the street from me has a BIG Mercedes car, he has a business and does over 40,000 miles a year, and only pays £20 a year tax, grossly unfair.

Re: Global Warming
The last car I owned was a 2 l turbo diesel Audi. Because of my disabilities I had to get a car with automatic gearbox and ended up with a 1.6 petrol Suzuki. The fuel consumption on the Suzuki a smaller lighter smaller engine car is greater by approximately 25% then my big old Audi A4 . So engine size isn't necessarily a judge of pollution.

Re: Global Warming
Where are a lot of our cattle in the UK they are free-range cows in a field in the USA they are in huge cattle Barns so I would think that the problem is lesser here than other places

Re: Global Warming
When we first came down to Cooma the first winter I nearly died of the cold,[ I hate it] gradually have got used to it, this year I haven't even felt cold, yesterday it was 3 last nigh minus 6, so if you look at the TV and see those people in Europe splashing about in the fountains trying to cool off it's because they are not used to the heat, then at night on TV they are told that the earthy is warming up they will believe it.
Now I am not a denier of changing weather patterns but with the number of people that now occupy the earth we should expect some change
They all want cars , fridges etc etc.
Cheers Des

Re: Global Warming
Des, in 1980 global population was about 4 billion, it is now close to 8 with similar increase in live stock to feed them all.
All mammals produce Co2 and Methane so the increase must have some effect.
We have been told that water levels are rising, where?
I have been going to the same costal areas for the last 40 years, I can assure you high tide levels are no different.
How much of the argument is political?

Re: Global Warming
I have a house right on the quayside at Fleetwood, ten feet from the edge, The tide comes in on time and tises in line with the Tide Tables. Beren there for 20 years, Never any increase.
a one metre rise, would need 37,000,000,000,000 cubic metres of water.
Where will that come from??
