Money talks
I see that Beckham has got off a speeding charge he was clocked doing 59 mph in a 40mph area ,having employed Mr Loophole who discovered the letter had arrived a day late, any other person would have got a fine plus points and a dressing down .This really pisses me off ,I wonder if an accident had occurred what the outcome would have been ?Who the hell is he anyway in my opinion he was a half decent player in his day ,but compare to someone like Hazard he was a bloody novice in a very moderate England team ,today's society is full of the likes like him Yes money talks!!!

One for them and one for us, its the rules. The same when Stokes the cricketer got off scott free, not even a fine, not guilty of affray, he had even damaged the other guys eye socket , so what do you have to do to cause affray. We are a sick society, and getting worse, kt

Re: Money talks
Of course it cost Beckum a lot of money for a solicitor, little worry to him, but i would take a bet that if found guilty, his points on his licence would have meant disqualification, kt

Not what you know but who you know, know the right QC and you can get away with murder. There in lies the problem you and I and the guy in the street would not know such persons, but if you area celebrity no worries mate we can fix it.
But the latest here is 'Mental illness', the cry of half those who go to court.
Barrister pleads not guilty on grounds of impared mental ability and off they go with a nice slap on the wrist with a wet lettuce leaf.
At this rate half the bloody country is mad, not counting those in parliament of course, they are another very serious genuine mental case.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

I have had several tickets especially from cameras, under normal circumstances there is no way you can dispute if it was late as the letters are not post stamped or dated..and you dont sign for them; they just have the date of the offence. Beckham got off because it was a hire car and they recorded the date they received it; but if you try to challenge on same grounds if it was delivered to your address, you cannot prove it one way or the other.

Re: Money talks
Many, many moons ago whilst standing by in Soton, I read in the local ragaout a speeding case.
The ase was before the local Magistrates, the guy was charged with speeding, which he denied.
The Police Sargent read out charge sheet, speed etc, text of travel.
The first question the defendant asked "when was the speed gun last calibrated" Bobby looked clueless, vacant stare.
The defendant let loose a barageof technical question which was above the Cops head.
The Magistrate intervened, "asked thedefendant, what his job was, a Radar expert with Mod was the reply.
Apparently Radar guns and speed cameras have to be calibrated on a regular basis.
And the defendant was discharged, Police were made to look foolish.

Not sure about the newer types but when I was a paramedic we worked close with the traffic cops. The large majority very very fair and you wouldn't get a ticket fir something they might do, as long as not dangerous.
Not sure what his residency status is her in the USA but likely he has, as I do a license from both countries. If I get banned I guess I can just use the other and keep driving as a visitor?
I got stopped for speeding here in California several years ago by a very cute female sheriff. The limi had changed recently and she was very taken by my accent so got a warning. I was single at the time and tempted to speed by again to ask her for her number!
SDG
PS. As paramedics in those days we were taught advanced driving to police standards. Given the statue of limitations thay 'may' have saved me some speeding loin and ££.

The cops are up to speed with that sort of thing these days, but still worth a punt
