#131... I can vouch for chewing gum still being taboo in 1999 as was part of the native population at the time. Long hair I as not sure about but made sure I visited thebarber at various intervals, he was also the local money changer and gave all the local gossip in the 4 or was it 5 recognised government language of that that fair city. The public whippings of tearaway youths lost their allure when there seemed to be a shortage of female ones. All insllI found Singapore a very promising city and country, especially when they ex communicated drug traffickers. This iPad is getting smaller and smaller so will have to desist on the wonders of the mystic east. And the wife relents and lets me back on the computer. Cheers JS...
