Re: £1 Houses Britain's Cheapest Street.
I feel sorry for them though Jim, the guy who had been burgled must have been pi**** right off with council, and one women had a point, she could not start work while the council were poncing about. and the property was deteriorating even further. Interesting to see where this goes, kt
Re: £1 Houses Britain's Cheapest Street.

Re: £1 Houses Britain's Cheapest Street.
When I got Married the first time in the UK,we took a Bed Sitter in Hagley, those days not a very expensive Suburb ,the Rent was cheap and the Sitter was quite large considering.
It was in an old very Large White House on the Hagley Road.
Funny I went back there when on Holiday a few Years back,it was Snowing quite heavy at the time ,but the old White House was still there as bold as ever.
Some tears filled my Eyes remembering the good days we spent there!
Anyway on Todays Markets Hagley is now quite an up market place and Houses there have Sky Rocketed,i have looked at some prices and wish I had bought a House then ! LOL
cHEERS
How things have changed ,but not the White House! Still the same!

Hi Keith it go's back years I remember our garden wall got pushed over when I was a kid.I'm not sure when it falls I know it is usually a winters night,I think the worst thing they get upto now is throwing eggs usually at taxis and buses.I wonder you know if the film crew got the kids around there to throw those mattresses in the street and possibly put the old settee there and set fire to it.I think its the last episode tonight, the Cameo Murder Case was in that road where the couple from Kenya live. There was a cinema in that road which was an old church the manager and asst. got shot there in 1949.

Certainly did Jim, look forward to the revisit. could be a good pointer to lots of authorities all over the country to follow suit, they can see the pit falls that Liverpool had to overcome to start with, and get it right from the start. Incidentally , there was another good program, along the line of the other program that went into the history of that house in liverpool, and its the first of 3 programs, on BBC4, and the history of our streets and was on a huge block in Scotland, and what followed that was a program on Nelson, using his original letters. I love history, kt
