Unnecessary Dissension
I do not like this but it has to be said.
There have been a lot of posts recently regarding the blocking of one or two members.
We have, in the past, had a great deal of trouble caused by allowing some members to make posts that are upsetting to other members, we are not going to allow that to happen again.
I set this website up to provide a platform for serving and ex merchant seafarers to make contact with old friends or to make new friends,I did not intend it to be a platform for argument and dissension.
If that is what you want please leave our site and go and annoy someone else, you are not wanted here.
Our moderators work very hard and spend a great deal of their time keeping the site current and shipshape, they do not deserve some of the criticism that has been levelled at them lately.
Having said all that and, believe me, I hated saying it, we will continue to work to see our website improve and to grow, helping people to find those old friends as we go.

Re: Unnecessary Dissension
Brian, as I have said this is the best of its kind on the net.
Open to the public we all have to be aware of what we say, at times we have all, including myself, maybe gone a bit too far and you are correct in your current posting.
I just hope we all learn a lesson from the events of the past week or so.
Happy daze John in Oz.
