Re: Service
I was watching Sky News's Adam Boulton " All out Politics" the other day (worth a watch if you want a rant at anything and everything with the number of so called "experts" they manage to dredge up on any topic).
They were discussing the future work that Prince William would undertake having finished his stint as a Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot.
On one side the had someone called Lady Jane Campbell (with an accent that could cut glass) and on the other side they had some female who was a rabid republican.
She came out with the most stupendous and stupid talk I have ever heard. It went something along the lines of "why should our head of state come from one family of white Anglo Saxon protestant people, why cannot our head of state be a Hindu, Moslem or Jew".
Well you stupid git, your are able to spout your stupid rhetoric just because the country of your birth has a Monarchy that throughout the centuries have formed the country you live in. You may think they do little and cost a lot (Untrue) but compared to the likes of ex. P.M.'s such as a certain T.Blair costing the U.K. tax payer £4000,000 per year in pension and security costs, the Monarchy are cheap when you look at the tourist income they bring in, the charities they support and the people they have to entertain on state visits.

Re: Service
Bit in the paper today which some of you may be aware.
An edict from the UN regarding children from the age of 10 to 17.
The 'charter of rights' they have put forward will see those children having more rights than their parents.
To the extent that they will at such a young age be able to dictate what they want and be allowed to have it.
Scary stuff as they say, though not in as many words, that at that age they should be able to vote!!!!!!
A child phycologist has condemned the edict saying that the human brain is not developed enough for that until about 25!

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Service
To go back to royalty for a moment. I don't know how the two princes William and Harry have remained close to their father after the way he treated their mother.
Diana was carefully selected for breeding purposes , to produce the next son and heir , while he carried on his affair with Camilla.
It is 20 years since her mysterious death in a car crash she predicted. The next few weeks will be very uncomfortable for Charles with the publicity and release of tapes Diana made before her death in Paris.

Re: Service
Louis you are obviously a believer wasn't that one of Johnny Rays hits "Oh yes I am a believer", you believe because you want to believe what some smart asses in the media world decide which side to take and who to dismantle. It is your right to beleive what you want and listen to others if you so desire. Anyone in the Royal Family is an easy target for the media, as they observe protocol and will not reply to insinuations unless pushed all the way, and why should they. They were obviously unsuited to each other as many couples are. Without appearing prejudiced however I met both parties together for a short time and my own feelings does not go along with the stories published by the gutter press. I would not put in print my feelings but I can assure they are not the same as yours. I am only too pleased that the younger members of the Royal Family have more tendencies to take some of these upstarts to court and take money off them and give to charity. Cheers JWS.

Re: Service
Charles was courting Camilla for a long time but was told he could Not marry her as she was a Catholic, and that is Not allowed. So Dianne was selected as he was a virgin and C of E.
I guess he carried on seeing Camilla, {what would you have done??}
Dianne didn't do too bad, she had a bit on the side with an Army fellow, a Rugby player, and an Egyptian and who else. So how can you take sides.?

Re: Service
#68... Brian said once before we used to work with HMS Bonnington at various times his old ship. His old crew thought well of him. The short conversation I had with him in later life found him normal and not a wife beater and fornicator as the press just fought shy of stating. If anything he was very shy and came down to whatever you wanted to say. Personally I think he will make a. Very acceptable King. Cheers JWS

Re: Service
John it is not my belief but actual accounts which will be broadcast on UK TV in a couple of days.
"There are three of us in this marriage". Diana's words before she too had her flings.
"My marriage day was the saddest day of my life".
