The Ladies from Hell. By
The Black Watch Regiment, (the ladies from Hell as the Germans nicknamed them) leave Edinburgh Castle to march down the Royal Mile, guarding the Scottish Crown, which is the oldest in the British Isles, on its way to the opening of the new session of the Scottish Parliament on 2nd July 2016.
Not only are the Scottish Crown Jewels the oldest in Britain, they are also the second oldest in Europe.II

An excellent addition to the post Marian, makes us very proud to be Scottish.
I hope your 2i/c is getting on well and I wish him all the best.
I'm going to have a couple o' wee drams myself now as I play the clips again.
Again, many thanks for the addition.

Did you all notice that every soldier on parade is wearing the famous Black Watch tartan except for the Pipers who are wearing the Royal Stewart tartan.

Black watch March past Dundee - YouTube
Strange that your video is titled the Black Watch, and they are wearing Glengarries , traditionally the Black Watch wear black Tam o Shanters

Re # 9.
This took place before the merger in 2006.
Following the amalgamation of the Scottish regiments to form the Royal Regiment of Scotland on 28th March 2006, the following Hackles are being worn by the regiment's constituent battalions.
Royal Scots Borderers wear a Black Hackle.
Royal Highland Fusiliers wear a White Hackle.
Black Watch wear a Red Hackle
The Highlanders wear a Blue Hackle
Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders wear a Green Hackle.
The Red Hackle can be seen clearly on the headgear of the Pipers and Drummers of the Black Watch, which proves it is actually the Black Watch Regiment marching down the Royal Mile guarding the Scottish Crown previously shown in this topic.
The Glengarry is now worn with number one dress on Ceremonial parades.

I sailed with a chief engineer on a king line ship called Archie Maclean who used to play pipe music constantly from his cabin and after a couple of days you got used to it after a couple more days you actually start the like it
