My Dad, had No Scottish blood in his entire family history, He had never set foot in Scotland,
BUT he played the bagpipes like a professional Scotsman.
He also played E Flat Bass in a Brass Band.

Hi Johnf,
In old Ormskirk [a Viking settlement] 1,500 years ago, on the banks of the River Ribble was a well.
In those days people only had one name. and then described by their location or the job they did,
Out of the well grew an Aspen Tree, and so people who lived by the well became known as .... Brian of Aspen in the well.
This over the ages was shortened to Aspen well, then later it became Aspenwall, and later became Aspinall.
and so Fifteen hundred years, eight months and ten days later, here I am. a Viking descendent.
I know this as I discovered last November 7th, that that it was 1500 years ago.
Cheers
Brian
