Russian plane disaster
Hi All.
Some sad news out of Russia, the plane that crashed in the sea off Russia carrying the Red Army Choir was a sad thing to have happened, having been to see them in the Royal Theater in Sydney in 1979, they were magnificent, probably up there with the best in the world. I still have the Program. Though different in style I think they were comparable to the Treorchy Male voice Choir. whereever they have ended up may their voices continue to sing in harmony.
Cheers Des

Re: Russian plane disaster
Our TV news this evening has suggested that there is more to this accident than first thought, possibly a deliberate act of sabotage, very sad indeed. Regards Peter in NZ.

Well if ISIS had anything to do with it, they have just shaken a tiger by the tail, and one that doesn't care about world opinion

Shades of the movie 'Tora, Tora, Tora' and the unheeded sound advice in respect of the invasion of Pearl Harbour.

Hi Richard.
On that score I see that the Jap Pm is to visit The Pearl Harbour Memorial, an old Jap soldier was on TV saying that the leaders have not changed from the war, the whole Cabinet still visits the memorial to Togo and his mates every year, and that through the old school he lost his youth for nothing.

He has already stated that he is not going there to apologise, it may have been better to have kept that piece of information to himself, but then again he has no need to apologise because it was only a few months ago that Obama declared that historically Japan was their greatest ally, I wonder if Trump will think the same

Obama is a fantasist, he thinks everyone is his greatest ally.
a few months ago he also said Germany was his longest ally.
I don't know where Britain comes in, maybe tenth.

Re: Russian plane disaster
He has certainly left a bad smell behind him as far as Israel is concerned and a probable headache for his successor. Shows him more in his true colours. Couldn't leave things as he found them had to make a pigs ear out of it. Why didn't he do what he has done weeks before going out of office. He has had 8 years to do so. Its all smoke and mirrors with the man. After he"s out of office he will be the same as the rest of them demanding his personal security detail of specialist secret service agents, keeps some in jobs I suppose. JS

Not even that Brian, he hates Britain with a vengeance for perceived (but unsubstantiated) atrocities against his Kenyan grandparents, neither he nor his parents have been able to prove any atrocities took place, however the atrocities of the Mau Mau have been conveniently been swept under the carpet, like most with a chip on their shoulder the other side of the coin is never shown.

Re: Russian plane disaster
The Russians are now saying the cause of the crash was most likely pilot error or technical failure and have stopped all planes of the same make from flying until the cause of the crash is known. Apparently that model Tupelov plane does not have a very good safety record.
