Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
#30... Been to Diss quite a few times and have friends who live there. Last time was there a couple of years ago spent about a week in the area. Will have to ask them about this dissing. Never heard that one before. You haven't miss spelt have you. I only go on this site, what does SN stand for Scottish Nationals or what. There are enough people on this site to answer any queries I may have and never sailed on more than one ship at the same time. Nearly been there though, but wouldn't pay two wages. Cheers JS

Now that bold statement must be one of your paralympicdoeskins (whatever). No dissrespect John but you can't possibly have been to Diss without having had a diss in a back street alleyway after a good evenings diss-up. Diss is renowned for it,or am I getting my Diss mixed up with my Dat.Cappy will know.
Also,I thought everyone worth their salt knew what the SN site was.You might have got a bit waylaid in your googling, as alphabetically it's listed after the S & M site ,which I am reliably informed is a chocolate covered candy sweetie.
Now,there are many queries on both these MN sites,John,it's a matter of preference. I prefer the queries on our site (they know who they are) and find this one more intimate, with less hysteria and many more sensible straight-talking folk, just like the kind we met at sea in fact......
A little humour goes a long way n'est-ce pas?

(A very discreet (geddit) theatrical wink, just to show I'm not taking the diss.)

Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
I had the following as the last paragraph before I wrote "that I was off to my new fallout and bomb shelter and awaiting incoming."
"There are 2000 or so land-based nuclear weapons and roughly 350 nuclear missiles on submarines. There have been nine Presidents since President Kennedy. There is roughly ten minutes the US president has to make a decision to "Fire!" All can exit the silo or sub within two minuets. Once airborne they cannot return to base or be recalled. Welcome to Armageddon. Never mind shipmates, sleep well, President Trump is watching over you."
It has disappeared from my post. This happened once before to a joke I posted. Am I being censored? I would have liked to put a smiley face following "Trump is watching you", but I cannot figure out how to do it, mine all seem to go to the top of the page.
Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
Marion, You are correct. Disrespect.
Dissing someone is/was primarily African-American street speak, as in "Why'd ya drop him man?" "The mother dissed me."

Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
In todays paper a small paragraph entitled Todays Tweet... Australia, New Zealand and more. I am always available to them. New York Times is just upset that they looked like fools in their coverage of me'
@realDonaldTrump President elect mentioned Australia on twitter on Wednesday. Obviously it was in one of his Trademark Twitter Tirades, but at least we aren't the focus of his rage. In fact it rather looks like he likes us, which has to be a good thing.
I like his mention of the press we share one thing in common. JS
Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
Rodders i am well aware, as I hope are all members, of the power the president has to push the button.
But the question is would they dare?
Much has been said by a number of senior Democrats that he is something of a loose cannon in this area.
I diss with this statement, Donald is a business man and somehow unless provoked beyond the pale would not push it.
I am also of the opinion, mine and maybe not others, that there are enough strong minded in the senate and congress that would take him out first before allowing such an act.
Re: Why Yanks think they are the greatest.
Johno, I refer back to my #34, as I said I was just joking mate, or as we say over here, "Just pulling yer (collective) chain(s)." My principle concern was the fact that it disappeared off my original post on this subject.
Secondly if someone will tell me how to put a smiley face etc. anywhere I would like to place it, it might help me to clue in as to the fact that I'm Joking. As it stands I place a period (full stop....smiley face) after I have concluded my post and hit a smiley face and it appears way up on the very top. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but what? My system works on other sites and it's the only way I know how to do it...so I need help.
