During the troubles in Northern Ireland, all British Airways Domestic flights to Belfast were classed as top security. Scanners and X-Ray machines were not used on these flights. All heavy and hand luggage was hand searched in front of the passenger. Plastic bags containing foods and cakes etc were all binned. Every passenger was then Frisked and if given the all clear he/she was allowed to pass through the airside gate. Even the captain who would be flying the aircraft was Frisked.

    FOURO.

I used to fly regular from Manchester to Belfast in those bad days.
In Manchester they had a separate check in, and the cases and bags went through an X-ray before check in and then a metal strap was fixed around it so it could not be tampered with. then you carried your bag to the check in desk a few feet away under the eyes of the Security men.
I never liked to go there or anywhere else, north or south, and on both side of the island. on that side of the water.. I was involved with a few Scary moments over there, , .worse than any war zones I have been involved in.

    HI All.
You all know about the Lint Cafe siege in Sydney, well the twelve month coroners inquiry has finished and the Elephant in the room wasn't addressed,
why was this idiot Monis allowed out on bail as he had been charged with 40 odd sexual assaults and the murder of his wife. Now at least the Victorian Govt is not taking any chances, the young 18 year old who was going to kill a policeman at the 2014 Anzac parade in Melbourne has just been sentenced to ten years jail, The Judge in his summing up said, he has said he is sorry and was led astray by older %^$# and has a loving family, but admits that on the day he would have carried out the attack so he must learn that we will not tolerate this type of behavior here in Australia. I hope other judges take note of what he said. Following this a human idiot has been sentenced to ten year in Sydney for recruiting and sending six %%% over to Syria to fight for IS, in a phone call recorded by security he was heard asking what it was like over there all brother this and brother that, they told him how horrendous it was, then he said oh! I wont be able to come over and fight with you brothers as my old father is sick. He was crying when sentenced saying I love Australia my country, to right he does, he is on an invalid pension with two wives, and eight kids none of them his, probably always fired blanks.
    Cheers Des

In our news today an article about Syrian refugees going in to UK. Plenty of money for them, according to the article they are now given some 8,500GPB to get them settled and local English men and women have to go to the food bank.

But I believe the problem lies not with your immigration persons but with the EU laws they afre fearful of breaking. Afraid they may be accused of not following the rules they allow all on just in case, but go to the Irish Republic by plane and see how you get on there. Scanners, take half your clothes off and all are treated the same. Wearing a black letter box, bad luck mate you go the same as the rest.

Last time there in June 2015 her indoors, born in the South was told her stay could only be for 8 days as she had no visa in her passport. Crazy thing is in her passport as place of birth is the town in Co. Tipperary where she was born but it is in an Australian passport.

My place of birth as shown is Dulwhich. On a return flight I was asked by immigration if it was the one in Sydney, I said for you to find out.' Off ya go mate came the reply'. But we have the scanners here and no complaints from anyone.

We have people living on the streets, most not by choice, yet we have a 116 Councils saying that they will welcome 20,000 Syrians with open arms and make accommodation available for them, I wonder if that £8500 'per person' had any influence in that decision. The 8500 is per person for the first year only and falls down to 1000 over a five year period.

Just watching the news and despite the good news on our economy the BBC is still anti-Brexit in their reporting and focusing on anti brexit supporters, of course they state they are unbiased

If there is anything the media loves to indulge in, it's negativity, the amount of doom that gets shoved around this country, and they love it. Listening to Radio 4 this morning and they had the chief exec from Legal and General on there, and he was full of optimism , we are a country that can do well he says. We need to hear more from guys like this, and less from the media in general, kt

Saw a bit in our news today from Westminster, one of the gov seniour MP's spoke about Britex. The opposition did not like it but his commenst were very positive. Though there are those who hope it will take so long it all falls in a heap. The people have voted and under the system of democracy we have in the west they win. Some may not like it but that is how it works.

the BBC is blatantly biased with brexit, last night on BBC South a program called inside out, and they went to Gosport to talk to people on the subject of Brexit. They must hand pick the idiots and their views to broadcast, one women taxi driver stated that the reason she voted to come out was the stupid EU laws, so far so good, then to make a point , she stated that she had been on holiday in Greece, and had met a farmer who had gone out of business because his bananas were bent, and the banana plantation had been forced to close, IN GREECE !!!!!!, these people are being used by the media to make us all look daft, kt

If you put enough idiots together, just like a parliament, you will get some very odd responces. But there will always be some clowns who will think this is true. May years ago the ABC here ran a bit in the news about the Spaghetti trees and how the crop this year would be very low due to some terrible disease. They even went to the touble of draping some over the branch of an apple tree. But thousands believed it!
